I lived in a 2 bedroom in Los Feliz Club which is located around the corner from all of the great shops and restaurants in Los Feliz. Carl the Bomplex manager runs a tight ship. Problems (the small ones I had like the dish washer needing repair) got tended to right away. If you want to live in a place where you can blast your music and have strangers running in and out..don't live here. If you want to live in a quiet and excellently kept Bomplex in the heart of everything...move in! I really enjoyed my time there.

I have never encountered an apartment manager so rude and abrasive. I originally emailed Carl about open apartments and when he told me one had opened up, I was eager to see the unit. He told me to make an appointment and I SUGGESTED coming in that day to look at it. I didn't think it would be a problem to ask since I wanted to get my foot in the door as I've been searching for apartments in the Los Feliz area. He rudely told that that wasn't making an appointment but "expecting people to fall over for you". That was honestly my first red flag. I ended up apologizing and told him I was just eager to see it and whatever worked for him would work for me. I saw the apartment the next week and it was a complete disaster. The person was in the process of moving out, which is fine, but it was grimy and filled with cat hair. I could tell the unit could be nice if carpets were replaced and it was cleaned but the fact that he showed it in this condition was another warning. As he was showing me around, he told me that this was the first 2 bedroom he's had open in 4 months and to submit my application ASAP if I was interested. It was really the area that swayed me as well as the pool and parking included. I submitted my application and he called all of my references. He texted me this same week and told me my application was accepted. I was excited since the apartment was opening up right when I needed it to in about a month so I told him I would bring in my deposit within 2 days. This was his response, "I was expecting that you were ready for this transaction, but you don't seem to be. I was expecting it no later than tomorrow. I will continue to offer it to other. I did have a good showing of it today." Literally you can say this in any other way. That along with my other interactions with him were just so rude and abrasive. I quickly decided that I didn't want to be living (literally down the hall) from a manger like this and told him that I was declining. I told him that his unprofessional attitude was what really turned me off as well as the reviews I've been reading on this site. I was as even toned as I could be when someone is rude to you and he wrote back saying that he's just trying to make earnest money and that this was the only 2 bedroom he had. Really Carl? So that 2 bedroom on a different floor that you posted on Craigslist 2 hours wasn't real? Seriously dodged the biggest bullet here. Thanks to everyone for all of your reviews. Stay away from this complex. Even though location-wise, it's a huge draw, as well as the idea of a pool and rooftop deck (not great in person), having a nosy, abrasive manager will ruin your experience no matter where you are.

First things first, the mgmt is the best part about this Aad. Carl is by the books which means he doesn't pull favoritism and he wants everyone to follow the same rules. this place is a mix of professionals, families and students with varying degrees of courtesy. Some people will help keep the complex spotless and others will write notes on signs, throw trash around, etc. Repairs are made quickly, complex is kept up well with a pretty garden area out front and they actually keep up with maintenance so things down look ------. The pool is indoor and heated with some sunlight that comes in through a pool sized sunroof. Apparently it's really neat to float in the pool and listen/watch the rain, but we didn't have a chance to do this. The hot tub is small but pretty comfy and can fit a good amount of people. There's a sauna back there, but it was out of order the whole time we lived there. Pool and hot tub are cleaned weekly and There's rarely anyone in there so it's your own private amenity most times. The gym is eh, so so, it has everything you need it's just really cold and unwelcoming, but that's how I feel about all gyms.. ;) Some residents play the TV really loudly and it can be abrasive. There's tons of entrances and exits and it's all open air. It can get a little cold during the winter.. ;) Our Aad could be loud but we were closest to the school, the bars and the Aad Bomplex that faced us. Ugh. No privacy at all. People leave giant messes around the recycling bins and it gets sloppy. There's also a sun deck which is a couple of chairs and tables, it was nice to go between the pool, to sunning yourself, and then back down to the pool. It'd be nice if they put some plants up there.. Gated, private parking was great and there's rarely problems with street parking too. I always felt safe, it's well lit, people are always around in the good way, there's cameras etc. If someone does get into the garage, they can't get into the Bomplex because you need a key. I highly recommend this place.. :)

I was a bit suprised to see the ratings for this complex so low. I have lived here for about a year and a half and have generally been satisfied. The rent is reasonable and the location is great. I don't agree with the negative reviews of the manager--granted I haven't interacted with him much, but I would call him abrupt yet reasonable--not rude. If you want rude managers, move to NYC--you will have a whole new standard by which to judge. My only concerns with this place are probably those that can't be easily changed. If you decide to live here, try to chose an apartment facing New Hampshire, not Vermont. Vermont faces the backside of the post office, which frequently wakes me up at all hours with loud trucks--and I am not a light sleeper. The gym is small and doesn't have much variety--in my opinion It's good for a quick no-frills workout when you don't have time to drive to the gym. If you want something nicer, pay up for a nicer complex or get a gym membership. Lastly, the parking garage gets broken into once a year or so. This is a big city, and sadly you can't do much about random crime, but I feel like the building tries to do its best to handle the situation. There are a lot of video cameras in the parking garage, but sadly all it takes is a hooded sweatshirt to defeat them. Take it for what It's, but I do feel like the building makes an honest effort to prevent stuff from happening. It would be nice if New Hampshire were slightly better lit at night, but generally (as a small, single female) I feel safe walking over to Vermont by myself at night. Overall, this place is a good deal for the location.

Pros: The neighborhood is Aemarkable, location is good and the pool, hottub and workout area are a plus. Cons: Carl, the property manager, can be hotheaded and tempermental. He gets Renuinely upset over little things and tends to overreact. If you notice a pattern about that observation in these reviews, it's no coincidence. Also, maintenance is horrible. Minor problems take several weeks to fix and major problems take several months. Maintenance only comes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Also, don't ever expect to get an update on repairs. You will only hear back if you continuously call the maintenance line and demand some sort of progress report. These apartments haven't been upgraded since 1970 and you will recognize that quickly after moving in. Expect to get frustrated quickly. Definitely look around before you commit.

this place gets and in a fun neighborhood. my problems with this place lie with the manager. a guy that will tell you anything you want to hear before you move in, then when you arrive, he wont help out with anything and seems like he hates to be bothered with it. luckily the maintenance guy is good and the wkd managers are accomodating. just be warned that the manager of this Broperty isn't what he seems after you move in.

It's a loud street b/c of the elementary school next door and traffic driving through. I did not feel super safe on this block at night. there were break ins in the parking garage.

I've lived here for almost 2 years. location's Aemarkable and amenities - nice pool, gym, and parking garage. this place is quiet and generally just full of respectful, nice people. Manager Carl has been prompt and easy to work with when small repairs or things come up. Everything is kept up well and kept clean. We're right next to a ton of restaurants, movie theaters, bars, shops, and Griffith Park, and centrally located for getting into Hollywood, downtown, Silver Lake, Echo Park, etc.

I love this place. I've been living in Los Feliz Club for a year and half and I think it's the cat's meow. It's nice and quiet here- no annoying party people or loud music. The building's location is AMAZING. Close to downtown, the 101, the 5, Los Feliz shops, Silverlake, and Hollywood. Did I mention we have an indoor pool??! And a hot tub! Both are really spotless and there's hardly ever anyone else in there so it's like having your own private pool. AAAAAAND we have our own gym. Again, never crowded. Let's talk about laundry. I like the fact that we have SO many washers and dryers. I've literally done 8 loads of laundry at once (on several occasions) without getting in anyone's way. Sometimes people forget to take their stuff out of the dryers. That can be annoying. There's also a roof deck. This area is perfect for sunbathing or relaxing or just taking in the city for a few minutes. Any guest I have ever brought over to my place has been super impressed with the building. Carl, the building manager, is incredibly personable. I've had a couple of issues with our kitchen and bathroom sink, but maintenance was responsive. Parking is also really good because you get a gated parking space and if you have friends come over There's plenty of street parking except for Fridays since There's a 12-step meeting at the church across the street. If you like a clean, quiet place to live, Los Feliz Club Apartments is the place for you. If you're looking to have wild parties and make it's loud- this isn't the place for you. Not only does the mgmt not want you here, but the other tenants don't want you here either. this place is comprised of a lot of young professionals and graduate students like myself who really enjoy the quiet atmosphere.
