Signing a year lease with the Chadwick Wtayed the biggest regret of 2018. The units are Sompact, cockroaches can be seen on every floor, and mail is stolen every day. The online auto-payment service is a scam designed to take $100 in late fees without you noticing.

the place overall is well kept outside, fresh paint and gardening but time to time, you will see dog wastes all over such as the walkways and elevators, you'll find pipes leaking profusely under the parking garage. These are only minimal problems that are currently been taking cared of since someone comes by and fix/clean the stuff right away. I have to say they have gotten better now, btw. The new staff in the office are nicer and accommodating than people a year ago. Maintenance crew are nice and helpful. Although You've got a few major unacceptable problems arising here that tenants are facing, otherwise complaining about, the "THEFT AND AUTO BURGLARY/HOME INVASION ISSUE DUE TO WEAK SECURITY SURVEILLANCE AND PROTECTION" and the " STILL, ROACH INFESTED UNITS". I wanna believe that Chadwick would've been a better place to live in - apart from the bugs, insects and roaches even though they just recently offered a pest control services to every unit, 2 of my kids woke up one day and I noticed over 10 red swollen lumps in one of my daughter's abdomen area and over 5 bite marks on my son's legs which appears to be insect bite marks that became infected, I had to rush them to the nearest clinic, it's gotten better now but they both still have those marks. The mgmt will have to realize that they have a lot of angry complaining tenants. Eventually these people will move out because of the same problems and lack of support and protection from the mgt. In turn potential clients back out because of the bad reviews they read over the internet. The promotions and efforts that the corporation spend are useless because they don't know what's exactly going on.... it won't be beneficial for the company then... They will lose tenants, they lose a lot of money. No wonder when we moved in a year ago, we were wondering why many people were moving out... after a couple of months, I knew why... Moving on, parking, the parking garage is dark, not enough lights provided which makes it unsafe to walk during night time, and the supposedly private tenant gate is always open and broken which again makes it unsafe since outsiders/ intruders/ homeless can come and roam or hang around. Listen to me, our access cards are not so safe anymore, a lot of them stolen. Last month the gentleman who lived in front of me, he said his SUV's back window got broken into by smashing and they stole all his belongings, the news got me and my husband alarmed and now we are cautious. We don't let our kids go out even at the hallway, all doors locked etc, we even considered getting a renter's insurance.. this is something a renter should get the minute they move in, it's a small price to pay for something so big... moreover, I heard that another car burglary from another building happened over the weekend. This is getting way too far Chadwick. Notice that even if alarms go off, cars are parked at the bottom level so no one would really notice, or maybe people here just don't care or simply tenants wouldn't hear it. Advice is to make sure that you take all your gadgets and important documents with you and not leave it in the car to avoid temptation. This is really scary for me even if nothing bad has happened to any of my family nor our car except for a good dent that we saw one evening courtesy of the truck beside ours. After from what I heard, suddenly it feels so unsafe just being around here with my family esp my kids. I think they should put the security to work way harder during nights and maybe put one for each building so they can roam around, but this is impossible because we found out that There's only one hired guy, unarmed, whose sole responsibility is to visually observe and check the main office area, no physical contact for him, just look and observe anything unusual... how can this poor guy be in 5 places at one time? Well he doesn't.... he is working alone... no car security patrol roaming around Westmoreland and Juanita, I used to see one patrol car before, a young security guy they hired who spends most of his time inside the car ac on, texting and talking on the phone instead of "visually observing".... Chadwick your tenants are aware courtesy of the sign all over, that It's not your responsibility if our cars get stolen or broken into or our homes get invaded but please kindly show us some respect and a little bit of care that even for just a minute you are doing something to protect if not us, our belongings, even for just a minute show you actually give a damn. We don't ask you to call the police or 911 for us or guard us 24/7, at least figure out of a way to assign at least more than one person for over 600 units of this community, trustworthy and responsible who is up and awake and secure the community while everyone else is sleeping or away. One of you guys are renters too or possibly one of you could own your home, so you pretty much know our sentiments, what if it's the other way around? You don't want things like these happening to you and your family, your home and your belongings. You don't want your kids suffering from infections all because this place is so old that the roaches and termites are simply taking over.....Please don't make this a "RENT and PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK" community. Chadwick is in a location is solid and is a nice place to look at That's why a lot of people stop by and inquire. I personally think Compton and Inglewood areas are way safer than this place we all call home. As for us, this will be our last year sadly because my family's lives are in danger here. For the newer tenants with parking space complaints pls be aware that when you move in , you might have wait for 3 weeks to a month for Chadwick to work with you on your assigned spot, it's mandatory. Permanent parking will most likely be given after a month in my case last year, if you have 2 cars, park one outside, it's available to cater free parking spots except for Monday and Tuesday for street cleaning, remember, studio/one bedroom - only 1 parking, if you have 2 bedroom apt - 2 will be given to you. Other than roaches, broken elevators, frequent car window bashing and home invasion theft, poor security (against crime and burglary) surveillance, no video cameras on the premises that are working, dark alleys and unsafe parking garage, impossible guest parking locations... I have nothing more to say. In this review, I am trying to write in the most decent way I can just to not sound offending. I understand how tough It's to be bombarded with angry and complaining people, and I am not trying to criticize anyone's job nor disregard your good efforts in making this place a better way to live in... in fact some tenants are seeing a bit of a change esp in the better tenant treatments... so my apologies to people who disagree with me...offending you is the least I want to do, I am sure you are trying to make a difference but please make it sooner. I am just alarmed with the on going problems arising here and living here, my family's safety is important to me. Regardless, I hope the mgt would offer a better way of pest control services since they haven't been wiped out yet, they keep coming back in my cupboards and kitchen and bathrooms moreover add security patrol active observant licensed bonded guys who would roam around each building day and night where everyone is upstairs and anyone could be lurking in the hallways, parking garage, outside patio etc, perhaps this can lessen theft and home invasion complains, the insect and roaches sure is creepy but this on going burglary issue is way scary for any family living here, it's not even worth risking anybody's lives... please don't wait until someone gets killed, mugged or molested one day.... please increase security protection/visual observation for your tenants.... this is a serious matter.... lives are at risk here... thank you and have a good day....

I have lived in City Heights for the past 7 years and I love the building!! The new mgmt is great and I love that Connie is still working here. The people here are great and It's like living in your own gated community. I hope to live here for many years to come.

Overall good, cozy place and location is solid. But sometimes marijuana smell and smoke are filled with hallway. As you know it's bad for health, some unit has a children. How should you control this matter. I don't know, this is your task.

Except PARKING CHARGES, everything else is good. I was about to take an apartment here in Chadwick, but changed my mind to move out of this apartment just because of the parking fees. Neat & kept up well apartments.

Good Staff and friendly people in community. Maintenance response isn't the best. Some cosmetic flaws in apartment but all are fixable issues. Location is great!! Community has great amenities. Units could use updating and better cleaning before new tenants move in. I'm concerned with the notice of asbestos and lead in paint and ceilings that should be corrected due to a health hazard. Popcorn ceiling fragments have fallen on me when taking down things from shelves in closet, potentially causing sickness.

Apt are old. New mgmt is unfriendly. Which makes a difference to me. The pool is the nice thing. But it has been closed since quarantine and gym. The only thing we get from them is letters that r bad. Despite being a tenant that pays on time and doesn't bother anyone. Air condition is only in living room. Bedroom windows are hard to put an unit in. But mostly the mgmt at office isn't Fffable. good ancillary staff. Cleaners are Aemarkable

Hello! I am a new resident here at The Chadwick and this is my second week being here . My experience living here has been pretty good . This place exceeded my expectations! With the bad reviews I was reading and not being able to do a tour (due to work ) I didn't know what to except. location-wise, it's conveniently placed ! The minute I saw the outside I already knew this apt was in a good neighborhood (coming from Victorville where nothing ever happens I could tell with how clean the outside looked with no hobos loitering I knew the inside would be just as nice ). Also I forgot to mention the application process was smooth. I applied and within a week I moved in ! Once I met with the leasing agent Mirna , I already felt like home ! She was the nicest! She went over all the documentation and leasing agreement pretty well and she also gave me a 1 month free of rent special ! She gave me a tour of the whole apartment complex and mentioned all the amenities were included (this got me excited ) as I love pools ,jacuzzis and have access to the gym here ! I haven't had any issues with any roaches or anything like that . There's maintenance people on site always cleaning the hallways. I mean ALWAYS! Which gets epic ! My rent is low and I'm in a easy area . The leasing office gets awesome as well as neighbors. I have had no rude encounters . The only thing I could say is the walls are a bit paper thing so you could here people pass by the always and people playing music ,but I believe after 8-10pm you don't hear any of that so the noise during the day isn't an inconvenience at all. If you work from home I would say put on ear plugs if it's that big of a deal . I want to thank Mirna for helping me through the process ! I could not have made the big move from Victorville to LA without your assistance! And when they say these are luxury apartments! They really do mean it ! I was surprised by how beautiful my apartment looks like ! From the granite countertops to the wooden floors , to the balcony to the lighting situation! My god ! Just beautiful! Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to move into an apartment In Koreatown:)

Initially I was disappointed as few issues which should have been taken care of before a new tenant move-in but after complaining they fixed the issues. The floor of the place isn't even, other than that everything is good.

I made a review anonymously but I just anonymously is so anonymous. As the mgmt office manager wrote out my name. Everyone stay away from this complex as you can see the office manager doesn't take things seriously and only says things for social media online. Once you opening write a bad review and tell the truth she attempts to manipulate the situation and lie until she believes the lie is the truth. In reality nothing gets taken care of even if you place a maintenance request before this whole covid it will take weeks for them to respond. And as of her saying to call security or the police. The police are not responding to non emergency calls they're barley responding to to calls. Last week a guy in the building was beating up his girlfriend and security came over before of the noise and multiple neighbors said something. I watched security stand there and talk to the guy as if he didn't want to be there and tell the guy to just remove the belongings for the hallways. No police came. mgmt doesn't return calls but the place your name opening and comfortably when you didn't place it yourself. mgmt doesn't have any respect or care for anyone if you file anything negative. Treat people like trash and is proud of their actions. It was only one good employee in the office and he turning to be like the manager and staff. If you lie and don't say anything and take their abuse you're good. If you pay you rent live quietly and don't lie for them and defend yourself you're a problem and they would kick you out or encourage you the leave instead of helping you. Thank you for putting my name when my name wasn't showing to the public
