I have had an amazing experience here at Dominion. I just left after 4 years due to a relocation and want to thank the management. The building has improved so much in the last few years, in and out. Pricing is very reasonable and this location can not be beaten. I could walk to my job in the medical district, the parking is right next door and it's really close to main roads, Wynwood and other cool areas in Miami!!

An honest person would not rate this building more than 3 stars. The building is super old and stinky. Everything is terribly old. The carpet (some units are hard floor) is super old and dirty and the manager is a dictator who would not change anything for you unless something is really broken! She would not care if you living in complete mess where roaches are everywhere in the building and they cannot stop them! The kitchen cabinets are super old and stinky. The hallways does not have AC so you are burning of heat and humidity in the summer. The apartments are waaaay noisy!! 911 vehicles pass by and their siren is just horrible!! Even with two layered windows they have but still the siren wakes you up like at 5am!! Just horrible. Nobody ever saw the manager's smile and she also sometimes will not even say hello to you! She is a rude, cold-hearted careless person. Do not rent this building it is a mess. The only good thing about this building is the neighbors which are all well educated and understanding people and it is easy to go on foot to UM medical campus which made me stay there for a year and put up with these horrifying situation going on in that building)

Completely ridiculous place. The building has been under construction for years on end now. You can hear the noises every day through the walls, whether they are working on the perpetually non functioning elevators or whatever. Every month they put up signs like 'Please pardon the noise this month' as if there hasn't been constant noise throughout the day for years on end. Completely ridiculous. Do not recommend anyone live here.

I just moved out of this place, and it is horrendous. Problems are as follows [but not limited to]: 1. Manager is not responsive to any complaints in general. The old manager when I first came in, some african american lady, was very helpful and courteous. The new one is not. 2. Cockroaches everywhere. Whatever they spray doesn't work. You will see atleast 6-7 cockroaches every day, with likely atleast 50 more that you don't see. 3. Almost daily hammering and construction noises throughout the day. It seems like someone is hammering somewhere in the building every day for hours on end. The sound travels through to your room even if the hammering is several doors down or on different floors. You cannot concentrate or study because of this. 4. Elevators haven't worked since I got here. Every f--king week, a different elevator is out of service. Be prepared to wait for the elevators unless you only need them before 7 am or after 7 pm. 5. Bathtub and sink drains drain slowly. Once the maintenance show up and fix it, after another 1 week, it's clogged again even when using strainers. 6. Entire building is dirty and old. This is inside the apartments, the hallways, the stairways, etc. They "renovated" the lobby which was done in an incompetent manner. They didn't even think to put a finish on the wood, and it's now all scratched up. Whoever designed the "renovation" should be fired for incompetence. I have no formal training in construction but even I know where they screwed up. The "new" elevators break down every week, same as the old elevators. 7. Think of a problem yourself, it probably exists in this building.

It is the worst housing in Miami and even in the world. A lot of pets in the apartments. Old apartments. Dirty places. THE MANAGER (A BAD -------- LADY) IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL, STEALS MONEY TO HER POCKET, NEVER SMILES, NEVER LISTENS TO THE CLIENTS, ALL HER INTEREST IS GETTING MONEY. I totally don't recommend this place. Bad neighborhood, dirty and old apartments, a lot of noise, plenty of insects and the manager gets money for pets control to her pocket but never run any pets control. The people who work there, especially that manager, and the lifeguards who are all mafia and thieves, are the worst people on Earth.

By far the worst apartment complex I have ever stayed at in my life. I only stayed for a month because of a rotation at the Jackson Hospital that was close by, and that was the only reason I stayed here but I wish I hadn't. This place made it one of the worst months of my life. The whole place is like a sty. It smells absolutely horrible. This is especially true in the elevators. I came this close to vomiting just riding up it for 12 floors. In fact after the 2nd week I just decided to climb the stair 12 floor each way everyday just to avoid that smell. And that is the least of the problems. There are an unbelievable amount of roaches. They are everywhere no matter how much you clean. Even on a higher up floor it doesn't matter. If you make the horrid mistake of staying here make sure you sleep with your mouth closed. I had some crawl on me in my sleep on a regular basis and it was horrifying. They hardly ever spray, and when they do they must use the cheapest stuff possible because it is completely ineffective and the roaches are back the same day. The entire apartment was completely run down as well. There were holes in the walls, rust everywhere, and terrible plumbing. Do yourself a favor and DON'T EVEN CONSIDER STAYING HERE. It was the worst decision I have ever made. On top of all of this, the staff is incredibly rude, the maintenance people just unlock your doors are walk right in after just one quick knock if they need to do something, and the entire staff and management are all incredibly rude and won't even speak to you in english.. Please do yourself a favor and don't stay here. Yes it may be convenient if you are working at the hospital, but trust me it's not worth the proximity. Just pay a little more, or drive a little further everyday if you have to, but don't stay here under any circumstances. YOU WILL REGRET IT.

There are many positives to living here. For one, the neighbors (at least on the floor I lived on) are all very quiet and respectable. There have been less than 5 times in a year that I even heard them, let alone had a noise issue. The walls are fairly soundproof. Second, the location is favorable for anyone working or going to school at Jackson/UM. The parking garage has never been full, though it is not only for residents and not attached to the building. Third, it is very affordable, under $800 which is about as cheap as you'll find in the area for a one bedroom. It is also fairly safe inside the building and I have seen no issues. However, all of this doesn't make up for a huge flaw which is why I'm moving out- the roaches. As with all the reviews on here (except for one person who somehow claims they never saw more than one roach), there is a huge roach problem. They are everywhere. I've had to kill 20-30 roaches every day, have to rewash every dish before I use it because there are roaches crawling around them on the drying rack. I've woken up in middle of the night with roaches on my face and have had several roach bites. They are in every room and in every crevice. I've found families of them living in every imaginable place- microwave, oven, fridge (they die in there) and also places where there is no food to be found- modem, printer, couch, bed, closets, etc. I've opted for the pest control service where they come and spray once a week, have traps and boric acid around my apartment and constantly clean and leave no food out, but the number of roaches continue to increase. There are other minor issues like elevators being out of order (or in the case of last December when people were actually injured when one fell 8 floors), some weird smells through the building, fire alarms going off at all hours of the day/night (2 hours at 5am once), the general aesthetics being pretty ugly, but those problems you may find in any building. I hate to give up such an affordable place with great neighbors and staff (sans the manager- she has many problems with constant lying and her issues have been documented with other reviews that I'll attest to), but it's simply not worth the agony of living with an infestation. If you choose to live here I hope you get the magical unit that somebody here claims is "roach free." Oh, one last thing- they LOVE to paint here. They put a fresh coat on all the walls every 2-4 months but never looks good. I'm not sure if this is a positive or a negative.

I lived there some time ago and have moved out. This is a disgusting residential building, with a well-known reputation of "Cockroach Paradise". The hallways of residential floors are 24/7 full of sweet smell of cooking curry and the hallway carprts are unchanged for decades. I suggest to anyone who want decent place to stay: take it as the last resort. Response to reply below: First for famous reputatyion of "Cockroach Paradise" simply ask anyone around especially UM medical school staff who are the most tenant resource. The hallway carpet in residential floor are worn, dirty, and give smell. Take a look yourself. By the way you will thank God if you can get 40-50% of deposit back when you leave no matter how you clean the unit.

Dominium Tower is very convenient place to live for people that wants to pay very cheap like me and for people that works in Jackson Hospital and spends lots of time at work. Other than that, Dominium tower should be demolished as soon as possible, the building is entirely disgusting, smells horribly, stinks from neiborhood food and the worst scenario is the amount of roaches or cucarachas you can find here. The roaches are all over the place especially in the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom. No matter how much you clean the place, the roaches will be here. They come from the dirty people that lives here and from the old building construction, it seems 22% of the roaches in Miami are proliferating in the famous Dominium Tower. According with the literature, place like dominium tower can reproduce one million roaches per day, I personally heard people did research with roaches reproduction and its favourite food/garbage in dominium tower. Also, tests were done with different kinds of furmigators that worked for a short period of time. Most of the people that work here in dominium maintanance completely ignore english language. On the top of everything, you would never like to have the um-pleasure of meeting the manager. Alina Gamboa, the manager, she treats people without any respect speaking spanish with her subordinates so the japaneses, chineses, ------- and africans would not understand what she is talking about and it happened to me several times. She charges money from residents for no reason bossing around and pretending rules did never exist plus you can forget about finding some other manager to complain about it because it doesn't exist either. She uses her little power of being the dominium tower secretary manager by abusing and insulting people in the worst disappointing low level way. Everybody that lives and works in dominium towers comment inside of the elevator that the manager brings personal problems to the office and has the addiction of collecting extra money from people that park in the dominium garage, security deposits from residents that go back to china, rent fees from people that barely speaks the language. If you can avoid this place/person/building as much as you can you would give a great favour to yourself, unless you don't care about plenty of roaches walking in your bed during the night. This is my very sincere description about this place, Im looking forward to go back to my country. My intership in Jackson finished and I would never suggest my friends to live here.
