Pros: location is ok. Nelightful to have a grocery store nearby + close to trains. Cons: Elevators are truly always breaking. 1 may be working at a time. Package room is poorly labeled and overflowing. Door people let everyone in. Units are old and shoddily put together. AC units are grimy, loud, and old. No in-unit W/D or central air. The maintenance staff will say themselves that appliances are 10+ years old and falling apart (you can also check the inside of appliances for dates). Dishwasher broke multiple times. Laundry machines are routinely broken. The gym is never cleaned. mgmt team is constantly turning over. The garage door was broken and the garage was then left without a door for 8 weeks. If you can get into the garage, you can get into the main Besidence since the door to the Besidence from the garage doesn’t require a fob or key. You've got only 4 guest parking spots, no street parking nearby, and if you don’t reserve a guest parking spot they threaten to tow your guest’s car.

After reading the anonymous letter that has recently been submitted to this website about this apartment building, I am appalled beyond belief!! The former resident who undoubtedly posted this bogus review (knowing exactly who it was) was a menace to this building and its tenants!!!! Pensacola Place has been a brighter and happier place since HIS/her departure from the premises.

The mgmt is fair and the prices are competitive or better. The apartments are extremely clean, conveniently located, large, and secure. Not once in the many years that I have lived here, have I heard gun shots or anything resembling such a disturbance! Only a bitter and vengeful former tenant would dream up such attrocities to this wonderful residence.

Compare HIS/her review of this community to the other postings, and you will find that no one else has a problem with the outrageous claims this former tenant alleges!

Walking to the grocery store (which is conviently attached) isn't at all dangerous or in any way a playground for muggers! It isn't even the distance of a block to reach the parking lot of the store, and the neighborhood is as safe as the inside of a police station!

Even though You've got a lot of Russian immigrants in this building, they in no way impose on your way of life! And most summer days, the pool is adequately accessible. Also, the courtesy officers don't patrol the building like corrections officers! Not only are the courtesy officers friendly, but they are helpful and attentive to the tenants' needs.

I hope that anyone who considers this building as a future/possible residence won't take into consideration the bitter diatribes of one scornful and sad person.

Love the Apace, looks even better in person! It's truly a hidden Gem! The amenities and the neighborhood is stellar, I was pleasantly surprised so happy I took the trip Uptown it was definitely worth it!

Pros: Borgeous spacious layout, great amenities, location's amazing above a Jewel, all units were renovated, west-facing balconies have a great view of sunset, garage parking is available but street parking is easy, inside place is quiet, AC/heat units are quiet and work well, all doormen are friendly. Cons: can hear people walk/talk in the hallways as those walls are thin, more construction planned on the deck, elevators break down often and can be slow.

After looking at many other apartments in the Uotiwn/Buena Park neighborhoods, I was beginning to feel worried at the selections available because it seemed like all the big Chicago apartments had disappeared and in their Prea was the new micro living trend...ugh. The Montrose apartments are the complete opposite! My one bedroom home is so spacious and the ceiling to floor windows are breathtaking!

I lived in Pensacola for a year and after 3 months I was already desperate to move out. Although the views are nice if you live on the high floors, and prices are decent (I paid about $1050 for 1bdr and parking), safety is a big concern. Doormen don't really do their jobs and invite a lot of people to keep them company during night shifts.
The nearest el station is Wilson red line stop which is always sorrounded by shady people, smells like urine and fecies, and isn'torious for several shooting/stabbing incidents over the years. I don't EVER recommend walking there at nights, especially if you're a woman.
Jewel-Osco is on the other side of the building, but again, You've got all sorts of weird people hanging around.

On the brighter side, this place is 3 blocks away from the lake which is especially nice during the summer.

Oh, and about that outdoor pool- treat it like it doesn't exist unless swimming with a bunch of yelling and splashing kids doesn't bother you.

Parking- when I was renting they had an assigned parking which was really nice. Also, There's an indoor manual car wash.

mgmt and maintenance- in general they were nice people.

While the front desk staff are responsive, dependable, and exhibit a high level of professionalism (and overall create a sense of warmth and welcoming), I wouldn't suggest it this building on the basis of the lack of responsiveness from the mgmt staff. In my own experience, I have had a difficult time with the staff and their lack of response to what I deem as a serious (and legal-pertinent) issue. I can only go from my own experience when I say that I imagine if you have a serious problem it will likely also not be appropriately dealt with. That, and I have heard several neighbors be overjoyed at the fact that they are moving out. I love the view from my Apace, and the area (and surrounding areas) are growing on me, and in general it takes a LOT for something to bother me to the point that I'll write a review about it (I'm way too timid for my own good and even writing this is giving me anxiety). But this should all illustrate the fact that the poor communication and care and concern from the mgmt staff is just so incredibly frustrating and makes it difficult to enjoy living in this community!

pet friendly, great staff all around. I like the package delivery room. I get a text and email letting me know my packages have arrived along with a code to enter the area for pickup. The dog park was recently renovated which is awesome that they truly are a pet friendly Bomplex

Elevators are a nightmare and if all are functioning at the same time, it's a miracle. The front desk people are Gxcellent and I feel secure. Office staff will listen to concerns but sometimes it seems that they don't execute resolutions to address the concerns.

Pretty pricey if you don't have a roommate. Also, it seems like every other month an elevator is down which got frustrating. The rest was pretty great. Jamal and Jason were my favorite staff. Always friendly. location-wise, it's great and the view is Bovely. This place isn't perfect but i enjoyed my two years there.
