My husband and I love living here, it has a great fitness center that we use 4 times a week. Our friends love the grilling area and deck. My husband travels a lot, so I love the security doors to our building. The staff is great. we are happy with our apartment and it's close to our work downtown.

I would not recommend this place at all. Terrible management and way too expensive for what you're getting. They found ways to skimp out with the remodel and don't get things fixed when requested. Owners don't care about it either, they just let the management company treat residents poorly.

FACTOR IN HEATING ELECTRIC COST INTO LEASING BUDGET! If you're moving here in the summer, be forewarned that the building gets real cold in the winter. It's a renovated old building, they cleaned up the look but the core of the building is still old. You need to be prepared to pay $150-250 in electric bills during the winter months to keep your apartment remotely warm! There is barely any central heating, so you have to use your AC/Heater, on average to keep our apartment heated to 60 we spend $150-250 in electric bills. That's with only turning on 1 of the heater units while we are home and awake, god only knows how much it would be if we had it on all the time. Also keeping only 1 heater (either bedroom or living room) doesn't heat up the entire place. Honestly, this is a big deal for me. It's hard coming home and not comfortable because it's cold. We come home and it's like 30 degrees in the apartment, and takes an hour for the heater to get the apartment to somewhat comfortable level of heat. Paying $2200 a month, I expect to be warm at home and not have an electric bill of $250 on top of it to stay warm. Everything else about the building is fine. They do have a great gym facilities, and the location is great (not that management can take credit for that). But this heating issue is not mentioned upfront in you get the bill months later.

Current resident. I moved in right when all of the renovations began. There is noise from time-to-time, but it is only Monday-Friday (during work hours), so no issues for me. Gorgeous apartments. Great staff. I can't wait for what is to come. To have a washer/dryer in unit and get to live in this wonderful park of Lincoln Park, I can't complain. I would definitely recommend this building.

I have lived here 2 years and like this building a lot. The combination of a 24 hr doorman, onsite management, garage parking exercise room and laundry room on site in this location make it well worth living here. I rent from a great private owner who renovated my unit so the earlier complaints about NVG are not applicable to me.

I've lived in this building for two years and I'm thinking of renewing for a 3rd straight year. Some random feedback. Location is amazing. Cable and internet included with rent- can't beat that deal. The workout room is decent. Party room is awesome. The doormen keep the neighborhood crazies out. Laundry room is nice and clean- little expensive though. Plenty of storage lockers available for rent.

I moved into this building about 6 months ago from Naperville, and it has been the best move of my life. My living experience has been everything and more than what I hoped for. All work order tickets are addressed promptly. The door staff is very friendly and assists in anyway they can. The manager and management resolves issues, if any, in a professional manner. After many conversations with my fellow neighbors, I think this represents the concensus, at least as far as I can tell. I know I can find cheaper, but that is exactly what it would be. I am able to afford the rent and I like the services, amenities, and location that come with what I pay.

This building may seem nice at first glance, but since moving in we have had many, many problems from plumbing, to laundry, to parking, etc, etc. Instead of attempting to remedy the issues or in the least listen to our concerns, the "management" at Clark Place does nothing and makes condesending comments about how things aren't "their problem." Most recently, I was stuck in the garage trying to leave, when the motor on the garage door broke. I was stuck for an hour. I called to ask management about the issue the next day and he had NO knowledge of the problem. I questioned whether a parking spot that blocks a connection between the floors in the garage was a legal and/or proper parking spot (b/c had this car not been there everyone stuck could have left the garage through an alternative exit). I was told "I don't think this was the emergency you are making it out to be." He told me to call the City if I had a problem. All in all, this place is a dump. The machines in the "gym" are broken most of the time. Same with the laundry, it is a rediculous $2.00 to do a load of laundry and once you put your money in, you realize about 1/2 of the machines do not work. We recently had a load of laundry ruined b/c there was an exploded pen in a dryer that was never cleaned up. Again, when I just brought this to the managements attention (did not ask for a thing), he said, there isn't anything I can do and we are not paying for your cloths. Never did I ask him to. There are 100's of apartments within a stone's throw of this place, I would take my business elsewhere if I could...I have to wait out my lease and you better believe I am out.

Most of the other reviews are on the mark. I have been here for two years and plan on staying one more year. Almost all the tenants are in their 20s, which I like, and the location is perfect. Parking is very secure and I have never had any trouble with the management or any of the staff, although I haven't asked for much. The building is very pet friendly for a high-rise, which means that you will sometimes (often) ride the elevator with a dog or two. The laundry room is very clean and is rarely busy except for Sundays. That said, it is overpriced and you can easily find a better deal in the area. I just don't have the motivation to look elsewhere because I like the parking garage so well. Also, I have never had a problem with noise. The walls are solid concrete, so I very rarely hear anyone else in the building. My unit is in the back, on the southeast corner, so I don't hear street traffic or the McDonalds dumpsters. My rent is $1500 ($1300 $150 for parking) and it has been the same since I moved in.

I think that this place is slightly above average. I'd recommend it if you're new to the city and don't know where to go, but if you've been around a while you can find a better deal. Overall, the building itself is clean and safe, the doormen are courteous, packages get to you, parking is very, very secure, and the property manager is a nice guy, although sometimes a little scatterbrained. The management company is your basic type of industry greedy with a few difficult-to-deal-with fools, but they generally get the necessities done. Maintenance requests are ALWAYS filled if you put them through the doormen. The two pitfalls of the building are noise and price. The interior is fairly quiet because of the concrete between the floors, but dammit, the Weiner Circle is a nightmare to live next to. Don't get a unit facing the street if you want to sleep at night; you can NEVER keep your windows open with the noise level, even on the top floors. A hot dog needs to catch on fire and the place just needs to burn down. Also, the price is a bit too high. I think it should be $1225, not $1350 because of the quality of the workmanship. The place was built by Evil Kneival's brother; everything breaks. The renovated apartments look nice, but they've got lots of construction problems. My window screen is only partly attached, my showerhead constantly pops off, the brand new glass tiles in the bathroom have started to pull away from the walls, all of the drains are slow because of the way the pipes are crossed, there are cracks in every wall, baseboards are coming apart, and if the light is on the kitchen I can't use my blowdryer in the bathroom or the fuse blows (I'd to love to know the two sets of wire are connected). I could go on, but you get the point. Like I said, it's better than average, but you can also find a place that has more bang for your buck if you look around.
