I love the community here everyone so helpful and nice. Emily the office manager is awesome. Her professionalism is amazing. The front desk people are awesome as well they of above and beyond. My dog love the area made for her.

In my personal experience, I would not recommend 1401 S State Property (Greystar) to anyone due to incompetent and disrespectful leasing management/agent, lack of adherence to follow IL landlord/tenant laws upon resident's request, safety issues and proper protocols, utility costs (not based on individual usage/ based on Master metered meaning 1 water, sewage, gas, trash, and common electric bill divided according to occupancy and square footage. No one has correctly identified unit #2010), reasonable rents (rental increase was 43%), and lack of representation for community involvement (Heritage months are acknowledged with a flag. There is no community involvement and pigmented people have been treated differently, including myself). I had to request from the Regional Management the Leasing Management not be allowed to make direct contact due to her unprofessional behavior and irate misconduct. There are issues with vehicle damages/breakins and weed smoking is not resolved. Consistently since 12/2024 I've requested an itemized breakdown of my utility charges, in which Conservice and the property utterly refuse to provide, which is an illegal practice. On several occasions, I have requested the property not contact me for survey reviews. No one has honored or respected my boundaries, and therefore I've decided to share. I am no longer a resident as of 9/15/2025, but lived here 4 years. For future residents, speak to current residents. I wish you the best! Apryl (Verified Resident)

I really enjoy living in 1401 S. State. When we first visited the Alat on a tour of multiple places, I knew it was the Alat for us. The look and feel of 1401 S. State is really comparable with our lives and we have been super impressed with the staff and services we receive.

Great building, great and friendly staff! Love the apartment and the neighborhood. The amenities are awesome and always very clean. The maintenance staff does a great job and respond very fast. Emily, the manager is super friendly and is always available if you have any questions. I definitely recommend living here.

The apt are Ruite, cold in the winter. It would be Guperb if the installation is updated. No amount of layering is enough. I’ve lived in several of the units, the shower pressure was different in each, consistency would be good as well, as I tend to like more water pressure. Living on a higher floor I was able to get that.

I’ve no serious issues with the 1401 State property except the “Conservice” used for amenity fees is NOT a fair or reasonable concept, as units like mine have higher monthly charges, also forcing tenants to pay for empty units. However, I can say that I’ve got wonderfully respectful neighbors on “my floor”, and the door attendant in the lobby is always courteous and kind.

I am unhappy as a tenant and don't feel treatment is equal and have been told I am free to leave do to my unhappiness all because I have been mistreated mishandled and misinformed and instead of resolving or apologizing suggestions to release me from my lease and leave freely have been offered as immediate resolution sadly I don't want to move again I love my home but I am thinking I have no choice if things keep getting worse.
