I am personally sensitive to location and architecture. I could not personally live in the McClurg Court building. On those two points this building is hard to beat. In particular, after you clear the hotel facing Lake Shore Drive and that old building in front, above the 20th floor I believe, the view of the corner one bedrooms is amazing on the four corners. Those 920SF one bedroom corner apartments are the best in the business for the money. The space is beautiful. That said There's a downside living there, especially if your apartment wasn't renovated. The individual heating AC units are antiquated and loud. this place isn't well insulated and sound proofed. Elevators takes for ever. On the other hand the inside swimming pool is stylish. The roof top has been renovated and much improved with a party room. Here is the thing: you never want to leave your apartment and That's telling. I don't like what they did to the Lobby. The first renovation with marble replacing terra cotta tiles was cool. The new reception desk was great. The third renovation of the lobby is pain ugly flashy and tasteless.

This Bacility is horrible to live in. I wouldn't recommend this Bacility to anyone. Elevators - they don't work!! . Be prepared to take the stairs - daily!! Be prepared to get stuck in the elevators. Be prepared to be frustrated daily with the elevators. grimy - the entire Bacility is grimy. They never clean the hallways of the floors. They are filthy! The gym area although could be great - is grimy! don't use the steam room because There's mold in it!! Laundry room - machines are never cleaned and smell of mold. Machines are often broken. It's common to see trash and filthy on the floor Doorstaff - RUDE!! Not Fordial. Unprofessional. mgmt - lazy! I have put numerous requests in for issues in my unit, in the Bacility and general issues. None have been handled on time. I have had to call repeatedly to get minor maintenance issues fixed in my unit. They are visibly annoyed should you go into the office to ask for help. Leasing agents - they will lie to you just so you move in and they will only show you certain areas that don't reflect the Bacility. People move out of the Bacility constantly for a reason!

Can you imagine waking up to the sound of voices so loud, it feels like they're in the same room as you? Or how about being able to smell the wafting odors of your neighbor smoking a cigarette, or knowing everytime they cook with anything stronger than salt and pepper. That's what you get with this Bomplex. And these are not just my own idiosyncratic experiences. From commiserating with other tenants here, and from reading the posts on this web site, it's clear that this is a widespread design flaw in the Bomplex. Oh, by the way, what does one pay for the privilege of living in a Bomplex whose cheap construction resembles that of a college dorm? $1600 a month for a one-bedroom Anit. I feel like the dope who bought the proverbial bridge in Arizona. Don't let them con you too.

I've lived at the Onterie for 4 years and have watched the building undergo renovations. I'm grateful and excited to have a brand new lobby as well as a new laundry room. The building has staff actually helps that have always been willing to take care of any concern that I've had. Im a student and need much quiet time to study for test, finals, etc.... This is a awesome spot for me to live and It's conveniently located to everything. I worth checking out the building to anyone who is new to the area and looking for a solid building to call home.

My husband and I moved to the Onterie a month ago, and so far everything is great. The mgmt was nice enough to let us bring in our stuff even before the due move-in date. And they respond within the hour for any demand we have. For example, the shower was dripping (nothing serious, only annoying); i called them and 15 mn later a nice maintenance guy came up and CHANGED the whole shower knob immediately! No questions asked. The next day, the mgmt sent us a cute card apologizing for the inconvenience and offereing us a 10$ Starbucks card. I have read all the comments made and i think they are unfair. We love it here! and i would highly recommend this place. The mgmt is really honestly great and the maintenance people are really efficient!

Never, ever, ever, ever (!!!!) rent an Aad from this Bacility. They’re the horrible in every single way. To tell a few: (i) the Bacility has the rudest maintenance and security personnel, (ii) There's zero point of contact to submit complaint, (iii) everything is broken (laundry, fire pit on the roof etc.), (iv) the corridors have the weirdest smell …. list goes on and on.

We've lived here for almost 2 years, and I can't wait to move. This isn't the worst apartment I've ever lived in, but only because I lived in a complex that had drug dealers below us. The appliances are horrible - old, broken, ugly! Sure, they're putting new ones in and renovating some of the units, but your rent will go up tremendously to get them. The walls are paper-thin, we can hear our neighbors do and say EVERYTHING. mgmt is BEYOND TERRIBLE! I complained about a leaking toilet and it took forever to get addressed. Their inept staff had to come 3 times before it was fixed! Each time they tried to blame us instead of their old toilets and poor plumbing. Every pipe leaks and/or has corrosion on it! You ask for anything and they act like you're asking them to create the world for you. We asked for a storage unit like 4 times, and every time they tell us to come back in a week or two and they'll have something for us. NOTHING! We complained about a broken shower when we moved in and it took 3 days for them to fix it! That should have been a sign that there would be problems. In fact, I got a sign there would be problems from BEFORE we even moved in. I gave them a call to schedule the freight elevator about 10 days before we were moving in. They wanted to know the exact hour we would arrive from 2000 miles away. This was the soonest I could call them to try and give them an estimated time, since our moving van driver was coming from across the country. They wanted us to move in at 8:00 p.m. because we hadn't given them enough "lead time" ... what a joke! Their person who had reserved the elevator for the time we wanted didn't show up at that time anyway, yet they still gave us a hard time! this place is currently under construction, so you pay high rent to live with elevators that are broken half the time, filled up with grimy construction workers the other half, a filthy laundry room with machines that are constantly broken, a maze of hallways in order to avoid the construction zones, and a fitness center That's non-operational... save your money, maybe come back in a few years when the construction is finished!

The Aad themselves are fine. The hallways smell like trash and the elevators are slow. Despite all of this, the main reason NOT to live here is the property mgmt. If you run into any issue, and eventually you will, they won't help you. They'll give you a smile or write up a Nppealing email, but don'tHING.

After reading the various reviews of Onterie Center, I arrived at the conclusion, that these people want something for nothing! I looked at alot of rentals in the Streeterville area, and nothing compares to the views, the price, or the location!!! Of course there will be sacrifices, you can't expect to have it all. I am a young person, a first time renter, and I actually like the diverse renters that reside at Onterie Center. I have actually befriended alot of my neighbors and developed a Gonderful relationship with the staff. But You've got going to be people who you can't please, no matter what. I Lppreciate living here!! So for those considering Onterie Center as their home, you should check and compare rentals in the Streeterville area and decide for themselves. You won't beat the price for this area!!! And after all, everyone who lives here, is here because of the location!!!! Heck, I'd live in a box be be on the lake!!!

Unprofessional staff, horrible attitude just take the lustre away from What's an ideal location and a good building.

The mgmt is unresponsive and for some reason with "attitude". For instance, Katie (a person in the office) thinks that she is doing you a favor by renting in the building!

Not to take too many names, but Habitat(the mgmt company) has a real good asset and all they have to do is to use some of the talent they have in buildings such as Cityfront or Presidential to move and fix this place
