Terrible unsafe location. Homeless people violent and angry living in the parking garage and an elevator that should no longer be in service! Unfriendly security staff and unkept and horribly outdated

This place sucks. Units are being broken into. Thete is trash everywhere. Going downstairs to the management office is useless. Even some of the employees that have worked here along time say the building is bad and getting worse Employees are now having to do work that the buildings employees should be doing. What are we paying hoa fees for. The board of directors are idiots. They go along with anything management says. On the weekends they have nobody here. Spills harbage sit for days. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

The water is off weekly because people are remodeling their condos which is a good thing for the entire building. They are also replacing sections of pipes as owners remodel the building. The water is not being turned off because it doesn't work. The Central Bank building is finally being extensively remodeled which will help the area. Also, the land directly across the street from the main entrance is being developed. We have heard that the bus station is to be relocated, but that keeps getting voted down or delayed and more than likely it will never move in our life time especially with Anise in office (and I'm a democrat). The light rail being next to the building is very convenient. I hadn't heard about the sprinkler system requirement, but I will investigate. The buildings common areas are nice. The condo fees are reasonable considering you get water, waste, electricity, Wi-Fi and basic cable included for those fees which is unheard of in any other building. And, as far as neighbors being criminals, that could be the case in any building; therefore, I wouldn't call that out as a particular problem to this building since it could be the case in any building. Overall, we have been satisfied with the building and it continue to maintain it property: replaced the coolers this year, painted the outside of building about 4 years ago, remodeled inside in the last 2 years, fixed the pool area about 5 years ago. It is a good, cheap place in an area that is slowly turning around as mid-town crowd slowly creeps towards the building. As the creep continues, the building will inevitably be worth more and the condos prices will go up. I would say that in 5 years we will be talking about an entirely different set of problems like how can I afford to buy a condo in the downtown area.

BEWARE UNIT #1509 AND OWNER. The best thing about living here is the location. Rented a studio condo from that came "furnished" with all of the owners belongings still taking up space. The place had unfinished floors and the stove was never fixed. The place had really bad roaches and spiders. It's loud because the interstate is right below your balcony. Not to mention the homeless people sleeping on the side of the building and the bus station across the street. You can't even walk outside your building without people asking for money. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Plus a new mid rise is being built across the street so plenty of construction coming soon. 0.5 stars for this place.

Place is a dump, lived here for 10 yrs, horrible mgmt. H.O.A fees are ridiculous. Water is always off, leaky a.c. and don't forget you're right across from the always lovely and safe greyhound station!!! So glad I got out.

I lived at 2016 for five years and I thoroughly enjoyed living there. Noise was never a factor there and I'm told by my Dr. I have exceptional hearing. I always felt save in the building but never walked outside late evening. I would certainly move back to 2016 if I were to return to Houston.

As an owner (this is a condo not apartment complex) I love living here. It's THE MOST convenient location, well managed, and well built. I won't be selling anytime soon.

Who paid houstonconsultant and how much to write that review? He must be living somewhere else. Water is turned off at least weekly, parking is a disaster, the board rubber-stamps whatever management proposes, and management is interested in everything but owner interests. Everything is done in secret behind closed doors. Truth eludes management. Rumors of kickbacks and payoffs under the table abound. This really isn't an apt complex...most units are owner occupied, the economy has forced some to rent until units can be sold. Monthly maintenance fees are outrageous...utility costs are included so you are paying for others wastefulness and there is no way to control it. One person living in a 1 bedroom (or 2 bedroom) unit pays the same maintenance fee as those occupied by 2 or more people who obviously consume more electricity and water.

2016 Main is the most secure, convenient, and best located apartment I've ever lived in. With all bills included, including electric, cable, and internet there is only one consistent bill every month. The 24/7 onsite security & maintenance are top notch and my wife agreed that she felt this was the safest apartment she's lived in. The location is on the edge of downtown and right next to all of the midtown hotspots... a perfect balance for easily walking to either downtown or midtown activities. AND it's right next to a light rail stop for access to Med center, Rice, Reliant, etc. Some of the earlier anonymous comments are not true; management has done proactive work replacing pipes before they become a problem. The building is constructed extremely well, very quiet, and maintained well by onsite staff. They just finished (7/2011) renovating all of the floors with new tile, carpet, ceilings, lighting, crown molding, etc. The building never lost power during IKE, so we were able to keep cool while most of Midtown dealt without A/C. We highly recommend this building to potential renters/owners and encourage you to check it out. The prices are very reasonable considering the convenience, amenities, and no extra bills to pay!

I've lived in 2016 main since 2006 and it's been my favorite apartment. The convenience and amenities can't be beat. Management just finished renovating all of the floors and they always do a good job keeping the building running smoothly. CONVENIENCE - All bills are included so there's only one payment to keep track of NOISE - Very quiet and well constructed building - I never heard neighbors from my unit PARKING - Reserved garage parking is secure and can be tied in to your EZ Tag for hands-free access SECURITY - The safest place in Downtown with secure access, cameras, and 24/7 security on site MAINTENANCE - On hand 24/7, the maintenance staff is professional and always helpful correcting problems the first time LOCATION - The building is in a location that allows walking to both downtown AND midtown locations as well as anything on the light rail I highly recommend this building to anyone looking for the convenience of downtown living. I disagree with some of the previous anonymous reviewers - perhaps they're disgruntled or coming from other apartment complexes.
