I am convinced that any review on here with five (5) stars was written by someone in their marketing department. The office staff is a joke. They don't care about you before you move in and definitely don't when you move in. I believe they ask for a high deposit so that they can tell you that everything is broke so that they can keep your money; has to be a scam. Safety maybe an issue since thieves like to target cars after security has left in the morning. Property is old and they do not invest in anything to keep it up; just what you see on the street. The fake reviews need to stop!!!

I lived here for 2 years. The property received new management after the first year and it will be the death of this property. I will note the general issues below but the reader should note that this complex steals deposits when you move. My apt, which was located next door to the gym, was flooded twice by the gym plumbing. In the process of cleanup, they stained my carpet and ripped it up repeatedly, leaving visible damage that was never repaired. I was told I would never be charged for carpet replacement for this reason. When I moved out, they took my whole deposit and blamed it on carpet replacement. When I asked for itemized receipt showing proof, they refused. I am now in a legal battle with them. Other issues: The water is turned off weekly for plumbing issues because they never properly repair anything. It can be off for 2 hours or 2 days. Electric outages are also common as are electrical issues with outlets. They illegally tried to evict people during the eviction moratorium during the pandemic with no notice. They will also put an eviction notice on your door on the 3rd if you haven't paid yet even though their lease states that rent is due the 1st-3rd. The Apts have no upgrades. It's linoleum and old carpet and white 30 year old appliances and then they charge you for this stuff breaking or going bad when you leave. The model apt looks nothing like the actual Apts. When they show you the grounds, they focus on the gardening. They like to make the outside look nice while spending nearly nothing on the interior of Apts. Package and car theft has been a common occurrence in this property. It's very easy to get in the gate. My neighbor's motorcycle was stolen and I had 3 packages stolen. The leasing agents are rude af after you lease. They don't even care about safety issues. One of the residents tried to rape me and nothing was done even after a police report was made. Do NOT LEASE HERE. It's not worth it. Let the new ------ property manager run this property into debt with its horrible reviews. Notice how the recent reviews are very different than the old ones.

!!!!DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!! THEY ALMOST KILLED MY HUSBAND AND DOGS. On June 2nd 2021, maintenance went into the unit below ours and poured SULFURIC ACID down the drain to unclog it. The acid mixed with water, thus causing our unit to fill up with TOXIC FUMES. My husband was in the unit sleeping at the time. He almost lost consciousness as he tried to get out with the dogs. His oxygen levels were low enough to the point that his lips were tingling and starting to turn blue. And the maintenance man who commited this horrible action is STILL working here. We do not feel safe here. Also, we've only been here two months and so far, we've experienced THREE unexpected complex wide power outages, our A/C has went out completely TWICE. Our dishwasher has broken TWICE, and our fridge broke once. And we've seen some of the biggest roaches ever in our bathroom. Living here SUCKS. I've got 10 months to go and that scares me.

This company will ---- up your life. In the short time I've been here, the ac has never worked. The fridge has broke twice, spoiling all my food. It's currently 12 pm and it's almost 90 degrees in here. I'm waiting for a "new condenser" that was promised "first thing in the morning." This is after I argued with the front office manager who asserted "that's the way AC works in apartments." She also said that "AC can only do 10 to 15 degrees colder than outside." Trying to pull a stunt like that is beyond the pale. She talks to my wife and I like we're morons without exception. I'm trapped in a lease with these people. God help you should you sign a contract with these devils.

The complex is beautiful the only downfall is the office. They absolutely do not care about the tenant past your rent payment. When we were looking at the apartment, the guy was very nice but was not completely honest about everything. We asked about cable we had Dish Network; he told us that they could point the dish through the building, which they cannot do. He told us AT&T and Comcast were the other options. Unfortunately, AT&T cable is not available in this area. Let me say that again, AT&T Uverse TV IS NOT available in the 77056 zip code, and the only DSL offered is the slowest speed. Due to the location of this apartment inside the complex, Comcast is your only choice. The day we moved in, the AC did not work. I reported it to the office they said it was just because it was so hot outside. The next day when it was still not working, I finally got them to send someone to check it. The ac needed Freon. Day 5 in the new apartment, the laundry room next door to us leaked through the wall and soaked the carpet in our living room. The after-hour maintenance was fantastic and showed up with 20 minutes. I know we signed an addendum that said we would be responsible for the cost to replace the carpet when we moved out. So when I discover more moisture and little mushrooms in the carpet along the wall a few days later, I walked to the office and told the manager, and she said she would note our account about the carpet. Our 3rd month in, we received a letter on our door. The letter described where everything on our porch was supposed to be put. If we could not put the items where they wanted them, they would remove them and charge us $25 per item they throw away. There were several notices about car break-ins in the supposed secured complex with security guards on duty. Security guards sit in the golf carts in the parking garage most of the night. The manager would also put notices on the door talking to the tenant like a child about how she would take some of the services they offer away if we didn't behave. Our fourth month in one of us got laid off from our job; you know it was going around at that time. I called the office and explained to them that one of us had gotten laid off, and we will probably not be able to afford the rent and may have to move. The women in the office said we don't offer a lease buy out so you'll be responsible for everything in full, even repaying the discounts they had given us when we moved in. There was not an I'm sorry to hear about that, or maybe we can work something out to keep you here. We were forced to move out. They sent us a demand letter for $11,000, including the cost to replace the carpet. A couple of months later, we got another one for $3,000 and this month one for $1,500 to settle it. The people in the office were friendly before we signed the lease but afterward became bullies and tried to intimidate us with fees. They overcharge for this place and sucker you by using terms like "fair market value." Watch out. They are very good at what they do. We fell for how great the complex is, but you'll see when you sign a lease and all those addendums so many it takes you about 30 minutes to sign them all. I checked them out on here before we looked but decided to learn the lesson on our own the hard way. So, we moved to the new place and only signed one addendum about lead paint or something.

We moved into this apartment a year ago, our car tires were stolen from a covered garage a month ago with 2 security guards on patrol. We reached out to the property management team and all they said was that they were sorry about it and that it could happen to anyone. When we asked them about what step they are taking to make sure this does not happen, they basically told us that we are here at our own risk. Beware and stay away.

This was an excellent place to live, particularly at the price point offered. Uptown provides a wealth of amenities just down the street from the Creole. Employment is nearby as is the massive Galleria mall.

I have lived at The Creole on Yorktown since 2010. I absolutely love the entire staff, they always go the extra mile. Becky Bird, the manager is always on top of everything and always greets me with a warm smile. Larry, is always so helpful and knows everything there is to know about the property. I love my apartment and never have any complaints. My neighbors are just wonderful, we always get together when the office has resident functions ( which are always a fabulous turnout). I could not live in a better apartment community in Houston. I always recommend anyone that I know to stop by The Creole.

The new manager does not have her work checked she does not mind the criminals drugs vehicles security lighting gates dumpsters landscape gas electrical and plumbing. She does not care there are no rules and laws followed. She will continue this, she is here for the paycheck only. You do not get what you are paying for. Folks are being cheated paying for crime, ------. They just want the rent. They do not want to do any work. They just lie/make excuses to not be productive and not do the work guaranteed under a lease which is illegal. Also be aware that all of the reviews written since February 2019 are written by her Becky Bird, her fake reviews. That's when was hired February 2019 as Property Manager. It's time for her to go.
