My wife and I have lived at the Augusta for 4 years and we have enjoyed living there. The office staff is always very highly professional, kind, and willing to get all of the packages that we have shipped to the office (I think we had the highest amount of packages ordered for a single unit, pretty frequent). Kendra, Jennifer, Rachel, are the office staff that I usually deal with and they are the sweetest, most hardworking office staff that I have every dealth with, always ready to help with a smile. Oh and also Wallace who was there when we first moved in and made sure everything was taken care of, (we got a really good special price when we moved here in 2009). They have a CARES team, Robert and Bonnie who do an amazing job holding events and always give out free food!! One tevent it was chicken breast or pork with sides and it was great because we didn't cook dinner that night, they are so nice and can't find this kind of love from any other apt complex. About the apartment now, we lived on 4th floor and never had a problem with any roaches or insects the entire 4 years there. This is a big pet peeve of my wife and pest control was always done frequently which led to a insect free unit. The unit is very very nice and the appliances, sinks, doors, overall design of units is top notch. Maintenance is always responsive. Also one priceless thing about this apartment is the parking garage! It's great that you don't have to worry about Rain, or transferring items so far because you get a spot close to your apt and on the same floor. Yes it does get tiresome having to drive round and round up the garage with 2 way traffic but its a huge advantage having a garage. Also with Security, they used to have just rent-a-cop type of security guards who didn't do much, but in the last few months of living there, they beefed up security by having armed guards with a German Shepherd dog!! Even I get scared seeing them, I think this is a great improvement from the past guards who did a so-so job. The security gates work pretty well, yet cars can still follow you right in. We never had any issues with crime, but i know some residents there in the past had there tires/rims stolen, with the cars left on bricks, so just make sure you have wheel locks. They do have security cameras in the lots now, but what apt is safe anyway? I think they are doing a great job so far by beefing up security. They have a new manager since early 2013 and i think she's making good changes to improve, I woud suggest they give residents special colored "stickers" for their cars so that security guard can see they are residents and make vistors sign-in. They need to beef up security at the gate imo, cars can just follow you in. The only problem I ever really had at this complex was with the Fire Alarm going off multiple times one evening-it was due to a malfunctioned fire-alarm, but it was a good drill for all residents. The elevators do go out of order sometimes which can be inconvenient when transporting heavy equipment, but that's pretty much the worst it gets, so overall this is an awesome place to live if you can afford it. They are pet friendly too, I see many residents with pets here. The location make it easy to hit 59, 610, I-10, westpark and beltway, so its very very good central location for Houston, close by many shopping, dining, nightlife, churches, around the Galleria area. Just avoid the rush between about 4:45pm - 6:45pm M - F. The residents here are mostly young professionals, some older professionals too, some families too, some party people too, i've had to notify office about noise maybe just once and they took care of it. Also people do litter in the garage some-times and don't know how to throw away their garbage properly or pick up after their selves but the maintenance team does a great job in cleaning up after. Some people are careless about their trash. They have a very good maintenance team who have been there as long as I have lived there and then some, kudos to them! The swimming pool is like a vegas style pool, very very nice, a decent gym as well. Thank you The Augusta for being our home for the last 4 years and thank you to the excellent office staff and maintenance team for all you've done.

Overall this is not a bad complex. The only issues I have are: 1. The office staff needs to answer the phone more often. I try to call from my unit about an issue. There is hardly ever an answer. I immediately walk to the multiple office staff employees simply walking around. Makes me wonder why someone didn't answer the phone(?). 2. The speed bumps. I agree they were needed because folks were speeding around the parking deck. However, I was not one of them. The speed bumps are way too high so I guess I need to get ready to pay more for my car alignment more often. Thanks for that. 3. There needs to be drinking cups at all times in the gym area for the water dispenser. This is a small request but if there are no cops why have the dispenser there? 4. In certain areas of the hallways, there is exposed wiring where ceiling fans used to be. Could this be patched up perhaps put another ceiling fan there? Other than these things, I enjoy living here. The rent continues to increase by substantial amounts which is sometimes necessary I understand. However, my expectations of what I pay for will increase in comparison.

I am a current resident of The Augusta complex and I honestly can say that I can't imagine living elsewhere. I recently relocated from NYC Metro area for a new job here in Houston, and it is the CLOSEST area in comparison to NYC. I moved here without a car and have had no issues at all. I have the Hailacab app on my cell phone and just arrange a pick up to and from work every single day. I've never been late for work and it is VERY reliable - and the rate compares to commuting to NYC from northern NJ for work. HUGE PLUS HERE!! I'll eventually get a car, but I'm in no rush at the moment. Let the cab drivers deal with the crazy drivers and traffic while I read the news on my iPad to and from work! I love my 1 bedroom apartment and haven't had any issues whatsoever with my space, amenities, or any noise/bugs at all. The staff is amazing and have always been available if needed to address any issues (which I haven't had). The "Cares" team - married couple (Bonnie and Robert) organize monthly events to allow the residents to meet other people and provide food and beverages FREE of charge. The pool area is great - clean and orderly. Being from NYC area I feel that the rent is appropriate based on the space, amenities, pool, lounge area, and FREE PARKING (NYC parking can cost you upwards of $400 a month!). Another important thing to note is that the location CAN'T BE BEAT!! There is an H.E.B. grocery store within walking distance. There are about 5 top notch steak houses that can be reached within a short walking distance. There is a dry cleaner AND gas station directly across the street. Best of all there is a great neighborhood bar "Muldoons" that is right across the street where you can have great drinks (inside or outside) and meet neighbors that live on Agusta Drive as well. Houston's restaurant is practically in back of our complex and has good food and a great bar area. You can walk (if desirable) to the Galleria Mall (ranked #8 of the best malls in the US) to do some serious shopping but recommend getting a cab right outside the Neiman Marcus parking area back home. Not to mention the off price stores (Marshalls, Nordstrom Off the Rack, NM Last Call, etc.) are very close by. In my 4 months living here, there NO negatives...maybe I'm lucky, or it's the fact that I'm realistic in my expectations and again living in Houston without a car and having no complaints says a lot about the Galleria area in itself. Can't imagine living any place else.

Would not recommend living here - dealing with the office staff is horrible, they are always "too busy" to deal with your issues and always have an attitude about them. The trash piles up in the parking garage to the point where it makes it smell - it is disgusting. Almost anyone can come in/out, car break-ins happen often with NO help from the "rent-a-cop". Also very stingy and skeemy about move-out procedures. Good luck not getting in a head on accident in the parking garage, there is not near enough room for it to be 2-way. Will not be renewing my contract, and am hoping for a job in another city that will pay for me to get out of it.

So I have lived here for 6 months and was recently offered a new job that is located 3-4 hours away. I thought I could work with the management to try to get out of the lease since I have to move. I was way wrong. My new job starts within the month. Not only are they charging me all of next months rent, which I have no problem paying, but they are trying to charge me through the end of 60 days plus a relet fee of a little over $1000. On top of that, if they are unable to find someone to get into my apartment, which by the way is becoming more and more ------ by the week, I have to continue paying rent on this place. Then when I met with one of the managers, she thought it would be cute to joke about me commuting to my new job, which I have already stated is pretty far from here. Then, she went on to talk about if tenants die they try to collect owed rent from the deceased person's family. I am not even sure why she brought that up. So basically they are trying to make it too expensive to move to my new job, which is with a company I have been trying to get hired on with for years now. On top of that, this place recently had many break ins over the course of one weekend. The security here is lax. They have a rent a cop that sits downstairs and watches movies on a laptop all night. Most places have a live in cop, but management is apparently too cheap for that. Also, the place is filthy. Residents leave trash everywhere and apparently they are not fined. I would not recommend moving here.
