I've been at the complex for almost 7 months. At first the office staff seemed unorganized but the manager changed after I moved in and it's much better now. Location is great for my down town job and it's close to some amazing hang outs. They have added a few fun additions to the game room in the last few months and the residents are mostly all great. All in all I really like it here and plan on renewing. If your looking for a new place in the area, I'd definitely give this complex a try.

The apartment used to have a system where residents' packages were kept locked in a storage room at the back of the office. However, that policy has changed without any notice. Currently the front desk have been asking delivery services such as UPS to drop off packages directly outside of each apartment unit's front door. Multiple packages have since been stolen. There is no security camera. When asked if something can be done so that packages won't be stolen, the office staff was quite rude and did not offer any willingness to come up with a resolution to the issue. It is a shame because this used to be a good place to live. Great location in midtown, nice facilities, and an excellent maintenance staff. I just hope that there will be improvement in the management such that residents' feedbacks are more willingly heard.

I recently moved out of this apartment complex after living here for two years. The condition of the apartment significantly deteriorated over the past two years - elevators are frequently out of service, people leave their pets' feces or urine in stairwells or on the elevator floor, parking lot is overcrowded, gym equipment is frequently broken. Some of the tenants are loud and inconsiderate - with their guests running down the hallways screaming at 2-3 AM. The surrounding area has had ongoing construction and several homeless squatters. Customer service is poor. Do not expect a smooth move out process. I was overcharged on my last bill prior to move out and it has required countless phone calls with multiple people to try to resolve this issue to get the money credited back to me. If you are looking for a safe, clean, quiet place to live with professional and supportive customer service - I do not recommend 3800 Main.

My apartment, the maintenance crew, front desk, etc. are amazing. They're prompt & professional. The surrounding area is a little sketchy, so walking around at night, alone can sometimes be dicey. Otherwise I'd give 3800 Main a full 5 stars.

My husband and I try to look at the bright side of things unfortunately we are completely fed up with 3800 Main. The maintenance staff is excellent here and complete work orders in a timely manner. The office staff members are just the opposite. Expect them to be rude and inaccessible to you. They do not respond to emails in a timely manner. They are not accommodating.

Overall, my experience at the apartment has been solid. Complex is very well managed with attentive and responsive staff. Amenities are amazing, typically kept up quite well and common areas kept very clean usually. Noise between apartments has never been too noticeable. The biggest thing is the location, but this is a double-edged sword. Being right on the rail is incredibly convenient for anyone who works downtown or at the med center. I very rarely have to drive anymore. But when I do, it's also very easy to get on 59 or 45 or 288 and quickly get to any part of town from a very central location. On the flip side, apartments facing Travis, Alabama, or Main will suffer from heavy road/rail noise at all times of day. This southern part of Midtown has been developing solidly over the last few years, but still not nearly as nice/clean/developed as the northern parts of Midtown, and there is much less within walking distance (especially after sundown) compared to the "typical" Midtown experience. Area borders right up to some of the sketchier parts of Midtown, so you will regularly have homeless/drugged up characters in the vicinity. HPD has been better about cleaning this up since the Superbowl, however. I've never personally felt unsafe in the complex or immediate vicinity, but I wouldn't venture very far south or east after sundown. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience at 3800 Main, but you should be aware of the caveats of living here - heavy road noise, less developed part of Midtown, bordering more questionable parts of town. I personally enjoyed my individual apartment, the convenience of the rail, and the great renewal rate enough to stay for 2 years, but the time has come to move on as I'm moving in with my significant other.

Overall this apartment is great! Maintenance is amazing. I only have a few complaints: The coffee machine breaks sometimes and it can take a long time to get it fixed. Often the printer is out of ink and it takes a long time to get refilled. The price is steep. You have to give 60 days notice for move out. Besides these things, this apartment complex is awesome! Location is perfect.

I would like to give a good review for it, but I can't. I moved to the apartment 5 weeks ago and since then, I have facing up few issues that if I had read from a review I would not move in: · The closest elevator to my unit which is the service, has been out of service every week, NO KIDDING. I have to park very far away because the closest parking are reserved for who wants to expend extra bucks to have more comfortable. · When you are about to rent and thinking about to close the deal, everybody is so nice, gentle, and with a big smile say: "There are many parking available first come first service". BUT no one said about where they are located at and if you want to park close to the elevator door, you must pay extra. Also, they say: '' YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT YOU PACKAGES, WE RECEIVE THEM FOR YOU AND LET YOU KNOW AT THE SAME DAY TO PICK IT UP" . Yes, they do RECEIVE IT, however, they just notify you and give it to you a week later. If you pay AMAZON PRIMER to get your purchase in 2 days, it is a waste of money because even you go to the office and show them that you got a notification that you package was delivered there and you have all the information, they still KEEP SAYING they have not gotten it. I had to contact a story saying that I did not receive my package and they send it again, 3 days later after I receive a confirmation delivered email, the office gave me my boxes .It was a big furniture. Think about all the trouble I had to deal with before and after explain the misunderstanding and also to return the other ones that the store resent to me · They literally stole 25 dollars every month from you for the trash pickup service. There is no need to someone pick up your trash and put it into a trash can 10 steps away from your apartment unit. The trash drop off is very well located and everybody can do it. Also, if you have big boxes, they do not pick it up, you have to walk all the way to the service elevator which is always out of service and drop it off at a place which is not easy to find at the garage. · The manager is very rude and does not like when you ask about the elevator repair. · Some new employee has not manner, ignore you and make you wait for them when they are on the phone for a personal call. They have no shame to make you wait, AS YOU HAVE ALL THE TIME TO WAIT FOR THEM TALK TO THEIR FRIEND DURING THEIR WORK TIME. Their personal phone call is much more important than your time and does not matter if what you need is URGENT matter or not.

Great location, fine finishes, efficient floor plans, competitive rates and plentiful attractive amenities. The initial leasing agent I worked with @ 3800 Main proved to be extremely kind, amenable and personable, however, pleasantries aside, my boyfriend and I lived a thoroughly foul experience with the leasing staff upon withdrawal of our lease application. Following several unreturned emails, we decided to view the property once more before making a final decision to - or not lease an apt. Following verbal notice delivered in person, we were informed that we would not be returned our security deposit; for clarity - our grievance does not concern the financial loss of the security deposit(as we did not expect recovery), our chief complaint lies with the absolute lack of a respectful, coherent, cohesive and overall satisfactory explanation concerning the applicable circumstances and/or policies surrounding the agency's inability to refund our deposit. We initially discussed the matter with a frontline leasing agent (agent 1), who, when challenged - posited that we would not be returned the deposit because they had 'waived the application and admin fees'. On request for clarification, agent 1 sought guidance from his manager (agent 2) and he (agent 1) returned with an answer that 'it's just policy', at which point I asked to please be briefed on the specific written policy we'd agreed to which was inhibiting the refund of our deposit; this dialogue led to the agent 1 disclosing that at this point it was at their discretion whether or not we'd be returned our deposit. I asked to please speak with the agency's local manager and I directly observed the manager roll her eyes and deny my request to agent 1 and only upon the agent 1's insistence, did the manager avail herself for discussion. While introducing myself and my boyfriend, agent 2 interrupted me and very sternly offered 'I understand, you're wanting to get your deposit refunded, you're NOT getting your deposit back'; mind the audience, the initial intention of the agent 2 was seemingly resolute, finite and ultimately uncompromising - she'd already reached a decision without considering a mutually respectable discourse. My grievance is lastly with the financial loss of the $300.00 security deposit, truthfully, the request for refund of my security deposit was just that - a request, one which I was prepared to be met with (understandable) resistance and ultimate denial. What I was not prepared for during my discussion with agents at 3800 Main, was a gross, discourteous and obdurate sermon. Mine is not the lone dissent concerning adequacy and capacity of the leasing agents/staff charged with administration at 3800 Main, it would seem, rather, that there exists a clear and striking theme within the representatives at 3800 Main. Mine and my boyfriend's lived experience today, transcended a minor, trivial request and instead quickly became an obnoxious and deplorable affair for all involved parties. I do not seek to regain my $300 deposit; instead, I hope to relate my complete dissatisfaction with the deterioration of the integrity of civil discourse instituted by the staff at 3800 Main.
