A LIVING NIGHTMARE. 3rd time this summer the Ac has gone out. ITS SAD THAT I HAVE TO PAY RENT AND BUY AN WINDOW UNIT AND TO FANS. Finally had to buy a window unit last night since the days are going to be 100 degrees now. So sick of this place. Management doesn't care and just tosss it up to "it's an old building there's going to be problems". It's a living nightmare. I have a little dog that can't stand this heat and have to take her to work with me just so she can survive. THIS PLACE AND MANAGEMENT SUCKS.

This is the worst experience I've ever had with an apartment complex, these people simply don't care, I was there when the flood happened, but these problems were here since we moved in on June 2014. To start with they gave us the apartment unfinished, there was wet paint in the master bedroom and had done a really bad job on it as well, some cabinets were missing hardware and the bathroom was so nasty, it had mold on the edges on the bathtub wall as well as on the floor. the apartment are very spacious but the maintenance sucks. We made maintenance appointments and they will take weeks to call back and then make excuses to not show up. After the flooding happened we didn't have a/c, this happened in may... now were about to start august and I cannot sit in my own living room because the heat is horrible, it feels worst than being outside. we had to get a window a/c because the heat was unbearable and they wouldn't do anything about it, as other residents have pointed out, they wouldn't let us leave after the flood. the people in the office are a complete nightmare, they are a joke! for sure.

Don't waste your money. After the flood here, they have just stopped caring for the property. There's flood trash from all the old apts plus trash from the construction left all over. They put new carpet in the building but haven't vacuumed them since they were installed. There's so much dirty in the lobby and I was tired of no clean up that I went down and swiped and cleaned then windows. The manager in the front office just sits on her phone all day and when you ask her about cleaning up... She rolls her eyes at you.

Moved in my apt in January thought it was too good to be true. Low rent and good location. 3 months later we were flooded out. I know the apt complex did bring the rain but the way they have treated the residents and complex after the flood is a disgrace. The manager has no respect for her job or the people that to live here. She cuts you off and rolls her eyes when you bring up problems. Every day we were told the ac would be work.... 6 days later they finally got it "working". I had to leave the ac on high for 4 days to finally cool down the apt. Came home last week to find a pile of debris in front of the lobby door with nails sticking up. A full week after the flood I had to sweep up and pick up the trash in the lobby. When I asked the manager when they are going to start cleaning the lobby area and I was told "they do it every day"..... Point is that this place is junk now and they esp the manager doesn't care. She sits in the office and collects a pay check.

From a former resident of 5 years (through greystar and now rockwell), here is the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly from my time there. The good 1 - I dont know why people complain about the office staff. After ---- left as front manager and ----- came in, I have not had an issue. Theyve made my repairs when I needed it, they were friendly and always willing to chat me up when I came inside, and even worked with me to get a lease term that fit when it came time to rewew. Ive lived in places where I couldnt get a call back from messages left and emails went unanswered. Not here - but then again, it might be the way I treat them - like they are people, and not servants. 2 - The utilities - The whole complex gets a bill and everyone splits it. It works GREAT. Find another place without paid utilities that you can get an electric bill UNDER $50 a month, you let me know. Keeping multiple high end electronics all day, a/c on full blast (70-72 always), TV going, lights on - paid next to nothing. Im convinced I will not find a better cost efficient place in houston inside of the loop with such a great location....which brings me to... 3 - location, location, location - hop on 610 in either direction and be at 59/288 in 5minutes. Meyerland plaza has awesome stuff on each end, and walmart (albeit not a great one) is 2mins away. Kroger and randals are awesome and down the street. In my 5 years there, I never had an issue going out late at night, or early in the morning to pick up ANYTHING. 4 - Security - after the management company started with a roaming guard, I havent seen any crime. No breakins, no car theft, no drugs, nothing. Hell, Ive been stopped at night walking my dog by the guard, just making sure nothing fishy going on. Good safe place. 5 - Neighbors - friendly people, dog walkers and niceness all around. When the flood happened people were going from door to door making sure people were alright. Strangers letting strangers use their bathroom and giving out water. It was an amazing display of humanity. The bad 1 - Yeah the shower is weird. Oh well. I found a nice medium by cranking the hot water all the way up and adjusting the cold water to suit my needs. Occasionally it drops and you get that SUPER hot or SUPER cold, but step out of the way for a second and it goes back to normal. Its a shower game. But for serious, minor inconveinance. 2 - Laundry room - Holy hell, I hate that place. No hookups, so youre stuck doing laundry on site with coinmark machines or taking it to a washateria. They recently went up on their prices too, but you cant blame the complex for that, they dont set it. Lucky at least they have a laundry card and an on-site card reloader that takes cash (bills). No quarters thank god, but still $1.45 to wash and dry. Seems a bit high. 3 - Construction/repairs/landscaping - something is ALWAYS going on - so if you like complexes where its peace and quiet all day - probably not gonna happen. Especially now after the flood. They are working SUPER hard ripping places apart to fix them. Good for them and the complex, bad for if you sleep during the day or expect to hang out on your patio/windows open and not hear noise. 4 - despite the cold a/c (and only 2-3 major outagages this past year), it blows moist/humid air. Get a dehumidifier or two and youre golden. 5 - Mail system (not the office fault) - the mail guy and the fedex guy who has this route are terrible people. No, they will not put a note in your box. No, the scans are never on time. No, fedex doesnt care about your package and will throw it over your patio (done to me multiple times) or leave it on your door. The UPS lady is awesome, when shes there. If they ever get a replacement, dont expect your stuff. I really dont understand what it is about that route, but packages never seem to make it on time. The office staff is not to blame though - when its there, they find it. Sometimes you have to ask them to check real hard. Ive seen the package room, and its full of stuff people just dont pick up. So expect package delays, but never LOST mail. The Ugly 1 - The flood - that place got flooded. HARD. Its gonna be a few months worth of repairs before things get back to normal. Sorry, but thats nature, not the complexes fault. Either way, this was a great complex to me. Any problems I had were resolved in a timely fashion. I paid my rent on time, I did not make excessive noise, and I was friendly with everyone. Maybe those who are having a bad time here arent treating people with respect. Id still be living there if my apartment didnt have 3ft of water in it. Anyone who uses this website is welcome to respond back and I will be happy to talk about any issues. Maybe I got a good unit, at a good price, in a good location with good people because Im a good person.

I currently live at the Meyer Grove Apartments. We were impacted by the flood last week. The management will not let the tenants out of the lease even in these terrible living conditions. I am a single parent with a small child that is stuck here even after the storm. The place smells like a fish tank and there is debris and mud everywhere. They are expecting people to stay in this even though it is not safe to do so. I have contact an attorney, a local news channel, and next on my list is the City of Houston's Dept. of Housing. I have no choice but to get together with my neighbors and fight this. I cannot keep my baby here. It is just a mess. I loved living here before and did not expect the management to be this way.

Please do not move here. We were recently hit by the flood that came through a few days ago. I understand that the management can't exactly control nature but my family has been without air conditioning ever since. I tried asking both the apartment and the AC company when we'd expect to be heat free and no one could give me a concrete answer. We've been going on 4 days without any word from the complex. I've "lived" here for eight years. Luckily I was able to spend 4 of those years away at college. But, now that I'm back, I feel it's my absolute duty to dissuade anyone from renting a place here. When my mother and I first moved here, things weren't SO bad. That management, however, PACKED AND MOVED TO MEYER OAKS which is literally across the street from this place. I would trust Meyer Oaks over this crap hole any day now that I know they have Meyergrove's old management. Back in those days (2007-ish) this complex had a 76% + approval rating. It's dropped down to 26% for a reason. I hate living here and I honestly feel like I'm living in a developing country at times. As someone who actually GREW UP in a developing country, no I'm not being dramatic. It literally feels like this place is far removed from normalcy. Please don't live here. My mother and I don't even have a lease anymore and are paying month to month because we're desperately trying to get the hell out of here. Avoid this place. AVOID it! My clothes have never felt clean after using the onsite washer and dryers so forget that. You'll most likely have to haul --- to a laundromat. Our downstairs neighbor's car was stolen and lo-and-behold a few months later his apartment is completely flooded out as well as EVERYONE else's who lived on the first floor. Avoid.this.place. Let's not forget how when my mother and I first moved we had the worst roach problem. We took care of it, though. However, our roaches were soon replaced with carpet worms/caterpillars (I still don't know to this day.) Just DON'T live here!!

First and foremost, this is going to be a long review. I am going to give the good, bad, and the ugly: THE UGLY: 1. MY APARTMENT IS INFESTED WITH GERMAN COCKROACHES. There has always been a musty smell to the apartments which I assumed was because the units were old but I read recently that with an infestation these cockroaches emit this smell. I've already had to toss my microwave (roaches were living under the casing) and now my coffee pot (I found a dead roach in the empty coffee filter as I cleaned it with vinegar/water solution). There are roach body casings, roach legs, and roach excrement to clean up on a constant basis. There were dead cockroaches in my apartment the day I moved in and we've tried two different baits to get rid of the ones still living to no avail. I have NEVER had a cockroach problem in ANY apartment I have ever lived in. So long to $250 worth of appliances (and counting) and my sanity. I literally have nightmares about cockroaches, am afraid to cook in my kitchen, and any itch that I have feels like there are cockroaches crawling on me. THE BAD: 1. There is bad temperature control in the shower - we've named it the ----- shower. It goes from cold to scalding within seconds without warning. It happens at least 75% of the time that I shower. Also, the hot water shower knob has come loose and it's difficult to even turn it on at this point. 2. NO temperature regulation for the AC/heater. It's either ON or OFF. So, it's either humid and warm or extremely cold. It leaves me feeling pretty miserable at times. 3. I'm pretty sure I'm paying for 800 square feet but am getting 785 square feet per the bedroom plans online. Not a huge deal but deceptive. 4. I was assured that I would get "wood" floors in my unit when I signed my lease. I knew it was probably too good to be true, and it was, as I ended up with carpet (not great for pets). Again, deceptive. 5. There are a few broken things around the apartment (that I told them about the first week I moved in) and was assured that they would be fixed. Not a single thing has been fixed in almost a year. They're not huge problems but nonetheless; don't tell someone that things will be fixed when they won't be. 6. There is no screen door for the very small patio. I would love to be able to open it to get fresh air to this apartment but I can't because my cat will get out. 7. Some of the cosmetics are not very nice (broken fences, peeling paint, water stains, rust stains etc.) 8. The cheap carpeting they put in the apartments wears really quickly and stains very easily. It's hard to keep my apartment looking fresh with crappy carpet. 9. No W/D hookups in the apartment but there is a laundry facility. The dryers are finicky and have melted blankets and comforters (on medium heat and they were not overloaded). Prices to wash and dry were just raised recently. 10. The mail system is terrible. Things will be marked as "delivered" to the front office; the office staff will look for them and say it was never delivered. It's mostly a problem with USPS and partially a problem with the office staff not being able to locate them. Also, the letter carrier never notifies people that he has left packages in the office; there is supposed to be a little slip from the carrier in your mailbox when this happens. THE GOOD (if you get past the cockroaches): 1. No problems with robberies, car jacking's, hit and runs, vandalism, fights etc. It seems rather safe here. 2. There's covered parking here that you can use. 3. The staff is pretty friendly and I've never had a problem with anyone here. 4. They provide free trash pickup on certain days although I almost never use it. 5. It's located near the bike path of the bayou which is the reason we started renting here. It makes it a great place to walk your dog.

I have to say the place is fair in condition. Somewhat old but enough. What I don't like is the new guy in the office, Luis. Is very non-professional. Doesn't greet you. Doesn't give you a smile. Doesn't try to help you. I don't feel welcome to the office as if I'm like a bother. I wish they look for a new more friendly staff. Been living here for quite a while now. Hope it gets better in the future.

Had planned to rent here for January 9th and was really excited. Then I went to go look at the apartment at the scheduled time and there was a sign on the door that said "Closed for staff meeting. Will return at 2:30." I came on my lunch break at 1:30, so I pretty much completely wasted my break AND didn't get to see the apartment. Then, I call back the next day only to find that they have RENTED OUT the apartment I was going to get the day before. That begs the question, did they schedule the "staff meeting" to avoid me? They have my name, phone number, and email, why couldn't they just call or email me that it was no longer available instead of making me waste my time? I can't speak as to the quality of the apartments, but management seems very negligent and only concerned with money and not the residents' or prospective residents' well being and happiness.
