I didn't believe the reviews when I first moved in on how terrible this apt. complex is on customer service...needless to say, I now do. I liked the layouts of the apt. complex and the proximity to my work so I thought it would be a good fit. I really had the best of view of the apt. staff until my car was broken into. My car window was smashed out while it was parked inside the "gated community". I didn't see the "s... view moreecurity officer" on duty that night and was told my car was taken apart---a break in that lasted for about 10 minutes. How did a security officer on duty not notice a screaming car alarm for 10 minutes? When I brought all this to the attention of the staff, they were defensive. I never once received an apology or condolence. I paid for the window out of my pocket although I also pay to live in a gated communtiy. I asked the staff if they might address the fact the gate does not close immediately and lets in other cars and the security guard being actually on guard. None of this was addressed. In fact, nothing was done. I asked for a garage so that my car might be more secure. I was told that there "were none left". I was told by a groundsman that another car had a window smashed out within that week. I told the complex of this to which they denied the fact. They claimed if such an event had happened, they would have sent out letters to notify residents. I have purposedly waited 2 weeks to see if they would send out letters notifying residents of what happened to me. They have not. I am most dissapointed to say that they community I thought I would be living in for the next couple of years I will be moving from ASAP. I am also disheartened to find out that the staff lies and puts resident security as such a low priority.

Terrible complex. Poor staff, insect problems, AC keeps freezing up. If you want out of your lease you must pay until your apartment is leased or your lease is up. What a ripe off. Poor Security, Carpet is terrible, Don't think about receiving packages from UPS because they might loose it. Homeless people asking for money on the corner.

I am a collage student, have been living in these apartments for a couple of years (have renewed my lease twice). I have to say that my experience here has been great. I love the layout of the apartment and the appliances. I have a balcony view to the pool so it is really nice to just sit out there and look at the beautiful pool area. The pool is never packed with people and its nice for grilling and inviting friends over in the summer time. It's a very safe and calm place to live. It's also a very convenient location, close to midtown, downtown, and UH. I have to say that the experience with maintenance here is the best that I have had. When I place a work order in they come either the same day or the day after. The office staff have always been very nice and helpful to me. The only cons I feel about this place is their trash policy. It used to be that you only had to put your trash bad outside your door and the maintenance employee would come and pick it up every morning, now you have to take it out to the ground level in certain days of the week. Also my rent has been going up every time I renew my lease but, I guess that happens with every apartment complex.

I would just like to say that just because you see similar comments doesn't mean you have to personally attack one and call the remarks "------" Seeing that made me realize something that possibly management is also taking a look at all the reviews. If you are familiar with an issue at the apartment complex and see it on this site or another as a rating, it is true. It could have been avoided as well. I don't take kindly my comments of how UNPROFESSIONAL you guys are by being called ------ because you knew of the problem before it was posted on a site. The fact that someone had the nerve to personally say someone is ------ based off true facts is also UNPROFESSIONAL on your behalf. I didn't acknowledge the comment at first but I'm more than positive that whoever wrote it is staff because you felt as if the comment was ------ and that was the only one that was called "------".... odd isn't it? No other comment was called ------ but mine so I'm taking it that you guys know who I am at least. So when I walk inside to get a package or to give you a rent check, I'd like to be informed on my ------ antiques as well. THANKS!!!! And just being honest, if it wasn't for the lack of security and the unprofessional, stuck up women in the office, and the PEST (wasps, cats, RATS, and spiders), the place wouldn't be all that bad. But don't call your tenants ------ when they basically make or break you. I'll always keep that in mind how ------ I am when I state true and proven facts about the apartments. It was nice living here for awhile but you couldn't pay me enough to move back. Would I move here? Absolutely, positively, NOT!

Please stay away from the Fountains at Almeda. I will be the first one to admit the location and landscaping is what mesmerized me. I thought this is such a nice looking community what could be wrong. Boy was I wrong. First off the train next door is a big concern. Second security a joke. When I toured the community I was very impressed that I was told we had a security guard on duty from 7pm to 6am. Constantly I never see anyone at the post, but frequently you will see him down by the pool talking to the woman residents. Ive brought it up multiple times never anything done. The security gates frequently break so they are left wide open for anyone to come and go as they please. The trash is thrown into just a large pile in the corner of the complex where animals get to it and through garbage into the parking lot. I refuse to take the trash out at night because on more than 1 occasion i have seen racoons back there. Stray cats roam the parking lot as if they own the place and its just a matter of time before I assume i will start to see kittens. BUGS ARE A HUGE PROBLEM HERE!!! You will always have to walk through spider webs on the stairs and see cockroaches in your apartment. Recently hornets have decided to make my door way their home and when maintenance finaly took it down they just knocked it to the side and left the hive in front of the door. It didnt take long for the hornets to make another nest on the neighbors doorway. Maintance and the office staff are the same expect no results. Weve had our air conditioner broken for 4 months and still its no results. Finally after a maintence man letting it slip that the complex just didnt want to order a part because it was too expensive and a very angry phone call did it get fixed for the time being. The office staff is immature and unprofessional and dont hold your breath for ever a return phone call. I know all apartments are not perfect but fountains at almeda is a complete scam and save yourself the time and take your money somewhere else.

Keep looking. Apartments are cheaply made. I can hear my neighbors whole conversation from the bathroom, the floor squeaks, and the water pressure is non-existent. On top of that, they will nickle and dime you for everything. These apartments are not worth the rent and I will be happy when the lease is up. I hate it here and the staff is rude. Not recommended to anyone. Hidden fees everywhere! Prime example of everything that glitters isn't gold!

I just moved out of apartment. The place was infested with insects and fleas. Also when I moved out they billed me a 16 dollar "utility transfer fee" that is supposedly on my contract but they NEVER told me about. I guess with crooks you have to read the fine print. Thieves, do NOT move here.

Each experience is relative. After reading some of the reviews, I could not believe that I lived in the same complex. My experience here has been wonderful. The management changes like all apartment complexes that I have been affiliated with, but the transition has been smooth in my opinion. CJ and April are professional and are extremely timely in meeting your needs. I have never seen bugs or rodents ( but I asked for pest control when I moved in and I keep my apartment clean). I have had several family gatherings at the pool and the clubhouse and the staff and management were very friendly and accommodating. I am moving into a larger condo next month and am saddened to leave the Fountains of Almeda family. I want to thank Mr. Aguilar (security guard) who knows my name, my daughters name, my car and where I live. He watches my apartment when I am out of town and let's me know if anything was suspicious. Thank you all for providing a wonderful a secure living experience this past year!! I will recommend this property to my friends!!!!

Do not rent here. The location is great...but other than that it's horrible! I have been here since 2010. Management keeps changing and the new management is the worst. They do not care. --- and --- are both liars! Any member of management that misplaces multiple rent checks and then charge tenants late charges are liars and theives! They have no personality and are down right RUDE! Don't count on --...he knows NOTHING! Don't think about calling the corparate office...they never call back! Parking is not adequate AT ALL! In order to park anyplace near your unit you have to get home by 5:00pm, don't dare move! You will never find a new place to park. Thinking of going someplace on Sunday...don't even think about it! And the security...it's a joke. The guard has a weapon, but who can protect anything when you are busy watching tv thru the blinds?! Better yet checking out the cars with a young resident...EVERY evening! It's really pretty if you can get passed all the bugs. Silverfish, spiders, ants and even friends of Mickey Mouse! YES mice! It also sits near an Adult Bookstore, which shouldn't be a problem. But I have seen half naked men walking the street near the exit gate. Game Day at Reliant...no problem. People park in the guest parking, even right outside the gate of the complex. So the best thing is to either purchase a house or keep on driving...
