“I absolutely love it here. I would recommend this complex to anyone, especially seniors. The grounds are well kept, it is quiet and maintenance is highly efficient. Santos is the best. The office manager, Mary, is also amazing. She is kind, knowledgeable and takes pride in what she does! I am extremely fond of her. I pray I never have to leave. They even have activities that residents can participate in. Wonderful complex!”

“Park Shadows is more than an apartment complex. It's a home. I had other family members move in here and chose to be close to them and am so glad I did. Each courtyard is quiet and well-maintained. I have an older unit with new floors- but all of my friends think it's been remodeled it's so well taken care of. My experience here has been incredible because of the staff here at Park Shadows- especially Mary Jewel. She is the property manager here and is incredibly observant, fast to help, and wonderful to speak with. Mary has treated me and my family so well. We had a death in the family early this year and Mary Jewel made sure that we were all okay and took to making sure that our neighbors and community here at Park Shadows were supportive during our time of mourning. I'll be renewing my lease here at Park Shadows (most of the tenants are long-time residents) because this is a blessing of a place to live. Thank you Mary and everyone who helps take care of our home!”

“I love living in this community! It is very quiet, peaceful and well maintained. The manager Mary is this best manager I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Mary is genuinely concerned about her residents and is always there to help and or answer any questions or concerns you may have.”

“I feel so at home here. The rent is fair and affordable. I am so impressed over the maintenance of the complex. There are always improvements being made, the grounds being kept neat and clean, and the new paint job is beautiful! Mary Jewel is our "go-to" person at the office, and believe me, she gets the job done with a smile and personable attitude. She lives here so she knows that keeping the residents happy keeps her happy. The only thing I can find fault with is the beach picture in the office. It's hung incorrectly, but hopefully someone will notice that small detail and then this beautiful complex will be perfect.”

“I love living here because the staff is excellent, things get done immediately when you ask and I feel safe here. Also the park is next door which is great for my walking! The neighbors are nice and quiet and the grounds are always kept up and clean. It's a win win!!!!”

“This place is absolutely awesome. Mary Jewel has a bubble personality. When the Harvey hurricane came in she was the first to check on the residences. She also went out of the way to see that all residences had food and water. I am not sure who she contacted but no time was wasted to make sure the clubhouse was full of what is need to help the residences comfortable. If anything breaks it will be fixed within a week(not months like other places).”

“Been living here for over 5 years and haven't had any major issues during my time. Mary Jewel, the property manger, takes great pride in looking after the property and its residents. It's safe, quiet, and affordable living with quick access to the city. Great place to live!”

“I have visited friends who live in this complex and have always seen the manager walking the property. Her name is Mary Jewel. She is very dedicated to her complex and her residents. You'd think everyone in here are related to her. She really cares about "her" residents and the property itself. If I had a older love one, I would want them in this complex just because of Mary Jewel. She better get noticed by the property owners because she's very dedicated and goes way above her job to help the residents.”

“P E R F E C T ... in all areas of apartment living Managed with care and attention to detail in a most timely manner and professional courtesy always forthcoming when notified or requested. Location is fabulous for me. Again Location excellent Medical Center Houston 7 miles, very easy drive Memorial Herman Memorial City 4 miles, Entertainment choices surrounded from movie theaters, live stage, dining, ...you name it Club Room on site and used very well. Programs always expanded. As a community of Seniors there is such appreciation for each other, yet all the privacy one could ask for. Once you are here, there is no reason to ever leave....Not enough room to write. Myself there are many church communities, Excellent Community Education programs, food shopping great variety, Gated Community, Great Camera Security System, ..The grounds are immaculately kept and detailed attention 3 times minimum per week...we can set our clocks. Smiles abound among residents. We ALL have our own front door and flower beds. U.S. Mail service delivered to our very own mail room. Beautifully Manicured County park, with walking trails and landscaping and county programs. We have our own keyed access gate to the Freed park. Our front Office caring and always attentive to detail and caring about the needs of and special needs of any resident. We are independent living...and 20% are 18 to 54...fine courteous respectful young adults. We are the Right size apartment community and as we express among ourselves routinely, we are so appreciative to our special owner and Management Company. Lovely pool and area that just has been updated ...the pool is wonderful and I so enjoy it. This Community is so quiet...you can hear the birds for sure. A caliber place to live, so many more pluses. Home is home! I am getting ready to sign my third lease. New neighbors are welcomed for sure. We do meals together monthly, play games, root for the home teams, library lending, next door at the park great garden area for you to get some fall tomatoes in the ground... SHHHH don't tell the world about us...we have many who have lived here quite a long time...it amazes me, but I fully understand why !!!! ...ME”

“Park Shadows is an ideal place for senior citizens. Mary Jewel is a thoughtful, fair and competent manager and you can't ask for a better maintenance; Santos is the best and he keeps swimming pool immaculate all year around. Gated community with night patrol, beautifully maintained courtyard, nicely furnished club house for socializing and that is all, you can have small pets. Location is excellent. I'm so happy living here. Thank you, Park Shadows.”

“One of the best places I have ever rented. Have been living here for 7 months and have enjoyed every day. Management keeps the grounds maintained and also have a night guard patrolling the premises. Also being located close to I10 and 610 makes getting around town much easier.”

“Very clean, quiet and safe. Overall my family has three units rented here. My elderly mother, and two younger adult sons live here as well. Staff is friendly and any service requests receive immediate attention. Price is very nice with included electric and not a lot of extra fees. Location is minutes from almost anywhere including both major airports, downtown, midtown and the Uptown Galleria areas. Located right next to a beautiful park. Activities at the newly remodeled rec center, limo service to local shopping and lots of mature landscaping make for a very nice place to live at a price one can afford. Gated community with remote openers, security lighting and guest parking out front. Pet friendly. It is an older property but well maintained and currently upgrading finishes.”

“I have lived here for 14 months and have enjoyed every minute of it. I have enjoyed the people I have met & look forward to meeting more as time goes by. Glad the club house is finish,; looking forward to some great times there. Mary Jewel Drinkard and her staff are just super. Everyone goes out of their way to please you. I am enjoying the whole complex. The park next door. Living close to small shopping centers. You just gotta love it. I do!”

“My wife and I moved into Park Shadows last July and have nothing but very positive things to say about the apartment. The apartment complex itself is beautiful due to all of the residents planting various flowers. Next door to the apartment is a large park with a .5 mile paved walking/running trail. The park is even home to a community garden! Mary, the Manager, and the staff have been nothing short of superb! They are always very friendly and responsive. We had a window screen blow off of our window about 2 months ago. Without even calling, it was fixed the next morning. If you are looking for an affordable, great place to live, Park Shadows is definitely the place to be!”

“Best apartment ever! Its a senior community so most tenants are 55 and over. Very safe and quiet. Very cheap comparing to other apartments around. Maintenance is very quick. The Manager, Ms Mary Jewel Drinkard is great, friendly, and attentive. Perfect location. Its close to everthing. There is even a park right next to it. I am planning to live here for the next 10 years,... Or at least until i have a child since the apartment doesn't let children under 18 to live here. I am one of the few young tenants here and I love it. My neighbors are friendly and always wave when i pass by. Parking is a bit tight but there are plenty of unmarked space next to the fence. The apartment is old but very well kept. Appliances, fixtures, lights, faucets are quite old but very clean and work great....oh, did i mention a beautiful pool? :)”

“Its 9/06/2011 all over again. The loud wind chimes are back - clang-clang-clang-clang-clang. The area setting is in the Blgd 2 sector.”

“I am the Manager of Park Shadows. Regarding the 2 posts before. I am happy to respond to your requests to have the wind chimes removed from your neighbors. But I do not know who you are. Yes we do have a policy that asks our residents to keep the windchimes under 6 inches, but if it is bothering someone we are fine with asking the resident to remove it. Most of the residents here will also be happy to oblige. My door here at Park Shadows is always open, feel free to come and discuss anything you'd like with me. I try to do my best here at Park Shadows and I am sure that any issues that you have here can be resolved. I emailed a private response to the address listed in the post and have not received a response. Hi Anthony, I read your post on apartment rating. I feel really terrible about the living experience that you have had at Park Shadows. I have been at this property for 8 years and my intentions and our staffs intentions are good. It was reaally a terrible thing about your vehicle being broken into. I have since hired a Patrol to look after the property at night and he seems to be doing a pretty good job. We will continue to try to keep crime out of this community and I feel really bad about it happening to your vehicle. I am glad that you are parking inside the gate now instead of outside. About the windows, can we try to seal them better with silicone or try to come up with a better solution if you would just contact the office and let me know when I can take care of this for you. I will also ask your neighbor to remove her windchimes. And about the a/c--it sounds like it may need to be checked. We do not install limiters (which control the temp) so we may need to add freon or the unit may be bad all together. Please let me know if we can work on sealing your windows better and also about checking that a/c. Sir, I think I am pretty sure who you are. Please contact the office so that we can get you taken care of. At least give me the oppourntunity to make it right.”

“After living in several apartment complexes I found my "Heaven." Park Shadows is the best complex by far. It really feels like home, the beautiful courtyards, friendly neighbors and caring staff. Anytime you have a question or concern, the office staff are right on it for you. The maintenance personnel are always there to help you with any requests for service. Park Shadows is a wonderful place to live!”

“A beautiful day with nice cool wind; and it should be a great day to relax in my apartment. But the rude policy of this apartment complex to allow my neighbor to have the right to hang two extremely noisy wind chimes that echoes all the way to my bedroom just ruins anybody's day or afternoon. Very stressing living environment.”

“My car was broken into twice in a two week time span. Mary is nothing but a big liar. I was very specific when I first signed my lease; all I asked for is a quiet apartment away from all the noise , she decieved me and lied to me and signed me up in a two bedroom apartment facing the street, the windows are not soundproof nor dust proof , all of my clothes are so dusty , and if two people are having a conversation under my window, I can hear every word ther are saying, it is extremely stressful. My neighbor next door has two huge bells hanging from the ceiling ; every time the wind hits them , they make a big noise.I complained about it and Mary said that she will take care of it and nothing was done about it. And given that this is an all paid bills complex; they control the AC and it's hardly blowing any cold air. I hate living here , I will not renew my lease.”

“Park Shadows is "HOME" !!! When you first arrive at Park Shadows, You'll meet Mary. She is so helpful and friendly. Mary and Joei makes up a great office staff. The maintenance is quick and very good at their jobs. Living here is rewarding in so many ways. If you are looking for a "home", move to Park Shadows. Mary will welcome you.”
