Pros: Two college girls apt, lived here for three years. Honestly given how messy we lived, there were surprisingly few cockroaches. Nice community Cons: Heating is terrible Advice to landlord: Please provide stronger heating

Pros: StuyTown was a great place to get a kind of NY-lite experience, in that, especially in a building like 321 ave c, you feel quite far from the city. In the spring and summer, the walk through StuyTown to the apt is lovely, but it quickly gets tedious and long (15 minutes from the train!). This makes social life just that much more effortful, especially since those 15 minutes aren’t through normal, restaurant or bar-packed streets, but rather through Stuytown alone. I did like the east village/alphabet city, though, and in-building washer/dryer, + ac, is great! The M23-SBS bus is a Godsend at this building. If you have a dog, the dedicated dog bathroom zone is right across the street, which is incredibly convenient! I loved all the green spaces/parks of Stuytown, near to the building and far, as well as Stuytown Cafe :) Cons: I didn’t love that the only way to dispose trash is through a tiny trash chute, which makes bigger trash disposals difficult. It’s also quite a far walk from the Ave A L entrance, which is the closest. Since many of the 2-bedrooms are conversions, there’s no windows in the living room, which, while common in NYC, is quite difficult to live with, especially come winter months with less time outside.

Unit TA Pros: Clean, laundry in building, kind neighbors, no sound from other apartments. Cons: One of the 2 building elevators was broken for months. Have an Ant infestation every time the weather changes had to deal with it myself management was no help. Maintenance is scheduled for weeks out. Advice to landlord: Become more on top of Maintenance requests

Pros: The location is perfect near several bus lines and the L train. The neighbors are friendly and the entry level and elevators are well maintained. Cons: The only minor cons are the water heat, which mostly is hot but sometimes randomly won’t heat up. Smoking is also not prohibited in apartments so the neighbors smoke smell may get in your apartment. Additionally, if maintenance must happen in your apartment, sometimes they aren’t reliable/ easy to get a hold of.

Pros: stuytown is organized and has a lot of systems in place so whenever we had an issue it was handled promptly Cons: because of all the systems, sometimes our requests would get lost in the rules of it all

Pros: Efficient responses to maintenance usually. Clean, spacious, well-located Cons: Not much to complain about, heat is way too hot in the winter and you can hear a lot of noise from upstairs depending on your neighbors
