I just moved into the building and there are bed bugs crawling around the hallway!!! I'm trying to get out of my lease. Stay away from this building!!!!

Apartment sizes are fairly large and I feel overall it's a decent value, though I don't have high expectations. I haven't had any problems with mice, mold or anything else horrible like some other reviewers though so that's a plus! Pros: -large rooms/closets, renovated kitchen/bath, nice balcony -value, value, value: in this price range & location, the apt is much better than anything else I saw while looking -the 'village' concept with three buildings in one square mile and no car traffic within the block keeps the area nice & quiet Cons: -laundry room perpetually has out of repair machines -maintenance pretty slow to respond to problems -heat is very kept high

Pros: 1. Neighbors are friendly. 2. Doormen and security personnel are nice. 3. Location 4. Rent stabilization during the early year have kept the rent under valued. 5. Open space (that's going away soon when construction starts) Cons: 1. Mice (caught 3 in the past 3.5 years) and roaches (every now and again). 2. Dirty hallways (most of the time). 3. Hallway occasionally smell like urine. 4. Trash left in the trash room but not placed into the 'trash chute' causing the hallway to smell and attracting unwanted insects and rodents. (Perpetrated by a few tenants - still haven't caught the perpetrator(s)) 5. Trash room is not cleaned everyday as it should be. 6. Garbage also left out in the hallway because certain tenants are inconsiderate and lazy to place it down the trash chute or taken outside. 7. Water turned off often because of pipe repair.

Avoid!! I am pretty confident the building is qualifies as one that would be deemed a "Sick Building." I had a rent stabilized apartment and despite the great price, I had to move due to a mold problem in my apartment that could not be remediated. In general, it is a pretty miserable place and the lack of respect for tenants by owners/management trickles down. All around a bad vibe and health hazard on top. I should add, the water gets constantly turned off for pipe repairs and brown stuff spews out of the faucet. I never drank the water when I lived there!

compactor rooms, laundry room, hallways are all filthy & rarely are cleaned. A washing machine that was out of service for over a month still had soap spills covering the top of the machine. Roaches & mice live here & are ignored.
