“Unit 3 Pros: location, apt renovated, green views Cons: not clean, can hear within the building, ac and vent are noisy Advice to landlord: clean better and replace load machiens”
— 327 EAST 75 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Nice apartment space, helpful super, quiet building & street Cons: Cockroach problem, not much being done to resolve issue”
— 418 EAST 77 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Quiet and safe area Cons: 10 min walk from the subway, occasional bugs”
— 418 EAST 77 STREET · Manhattan“Unit A Pros: Access to laundry, quick trash pick up Cons: Management was not helpful whatsoever, constant lack of hot water and no heat. Definitely overpriced, but the location was nice. Advice to landlord: Be a better person.”
“Unit 2C Pros: Management is professional and make a good faith effort to maintain the building well. Regular cleaning of entry and hallway space. Offers for tenants like laundry delivery. Quick replies from management. Cons: The super was not the most responsive to certain issues that could have been resolved with more urgency. Sometimes they would insist there was no issue to avoid having to fix.”
— 1409 YORK AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Rent is cheaper than rest of UES Cons: The super screamed at me and told me that it was my fault the entire lock in my door fell out when I tried to unlock it. I was locked out without a phone and he threatened to leave me there from afternoon until the evening (this was in October). The construction can be very loud. No laundry. Minor but annoying - charges small service fee to pay rent every month. Advice to landlord: Fire your super”
— 439 EAST 74 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 1FE Pros: Management company is responsive and understanding (as any nyc landlord can be) Apartment is newly renovated with updated kitchen and bath Neighborhood and neighbors are great Cons: Small (under 300 sq feet) for a 1 bed - basically stuck a wall in a studio, what’s new? Pest problem (mice) due to poor renovation/patchwork behind appliances/radiator Construction!!! This was not told to us before moving in but a week later scaffolding went up and complete demolition happened next door. They are now rebuilding but damages have been done to building/my apartment since construction started Advice to landlord: N/A I think all your tenants complaints have been told to you”
— 439 EAST 74 STREET · Manhattan“Unit 8 Pros: The apartments themselves are cozy and comfortable and many have been recently gutted and renovated. The building itself is quiet. Cons: There is a rodent problem. Management waits for pest control to come every last Monday of the month and you have to sign up for slots. But if you can’t wait until then, they are not very responsive and you still might have to wait a week. My apartment is absolutely infested and nothing changed even after pest control came and the super came to fill in any holes behind appliances etc. Other than that, there are no cameras in the downstairs areas near mail and packages are often left here (though they should be left next to the apartments themselves) and stolen. Advice to landlord: Please figure out pest control asap.”
— 305 EAST 75 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Intercom is a nice feature Cons: Poor management of rat infestation in basement garbage area (likely also due to poor waste management.) Absolutely unacceptable living condition since laundry machines are in the same room. Fix this issue! Already reported to 311 with no improvement over multiple-month period (research shows this issue has existed for years, how disgusting) Advice to landlord: Fix the rat/trash issue in basement, it’s a sanitary hazard, health hazard, and just plain negligence”
— 425 EAST 75 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: old building and no natural light Cons: localization - neighborhood Advice to landlord: clean the common areas”
— 422 EAST 77 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Quite building and area Virtual doorman Cons: Poor waste management Big Rat Infestation in the basement Advice to landlord: Please please fix the issue with rats in basement! It’s just AWFUL!”
— 425 EAST 75 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: There is nothing positive to say Cons: Building management does not allow registered service animals or ESA and calls them a fire hazard. Advice to landlord: I recommend learning the law of discriminating against those with disabilities. And know that ESA and Service Animals' rights. Would not recommend”
— 1411 YORK AVENUE · Manhattan“Pros: Location is convenient. Cons: Landlord have been doing construction for 8 months. Creating Potentially toxic dust, insect and pests. Heat and Gas lapses.”
— 305 EAST 75 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Lots of windows in units, nice location, old charm. Cons: Lots of noise and debris from ongoing renovations Advice to landlord: Picture yourself unknowingly signing on to live in a construction zone for a year, how would you like to be treated by the management when the conditions worsen and have limited or no use of utilities”
— 305 EAST 75 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Very cute apartments Cons: Owner never responded”
— 305 EAST 75 STREET · Manhattan“Pros: Affordable Rent, Very Friendly Building Manager/Super; Great Location, Water Pressure Cons: Lack of Communication between Renters and Landlord; Noisy Heat; Lack of Payment Options Advice to landlord: Answer Emails Timely and Professionally”
