constant cycling through mgmt personnel makes it easy to understand why John L. Jones struggles to maintain organized records! Here are SEVERAL tenant grievances worth noting. 1. Senior residents face unjust treatment: "Mandating" online payment submissions to appear "environmentally conscious," while simultaneously distributing EXCESSIVE paper notices multiple times per month. This creates serious concerns for those traveling or away for employment, as door postings signal an unoccupied unit. Reassigning parking locations and storage areas on short notice. Many older residents and working individuals find it nearly impossible to relocate possessions within seven days. I'm concerned for those away from the complex who may return to discover their vehicles towed and storage contents discarded. Tenants with storage units positioned above parking spots receive no ladder assistance or support staff. It's dangerous requiring residents to climb onto vehicle hoods to access and move their stored belongings. 2. Established residents perceive mgmt as retaliatory (and they are). parking and storage reorganization scattered tenants haphazardly throughout the community without any coherent plan. While matching parking spaces to storage units makes sense logically, several spots lack corresponding storage numbers. How 's that rational? reassignment process itself lacked any sequential or systematic approach. 3. Requiring car registration and full insurance details with an external security vendor was excessive. Basic information—vehicle type, model, license plate, and apartment number—would have sufficed. Jones and Jones, Inc. has never maintained consistent security personnel. Coverage operates only 10:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m. on MOST EVENINGS. Contractors change frequently. Sharing extensive personal data with outside entities poses unnecessary risk. 4. Continuous renovation activity creates constant disruption! Remodeling vacant apartments with workers banging, drilling, cutting and hammering throughout the day, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and extending until 8:00 p.m. green landscaping was replaced with mismatched, unattractive plantings. Mature trees were removed, eliminating privacy and cooling shade for hot months. Natural grass was switched to artificial turf. Hardwood installed over carpeting eliminated sound insulation. Younger residents throw parties and noise reverberates across floors. Gas fireplaces were eliminated without approval and replaced with tacky electrical fireplace images—essentially wall art. Casa De Marina's marketing materials continue advertising gas fireplaces as a featured amenity. All balconies and patios lost wood furnishings in favor of flimsy plastic barriers that block ventilation, causing upper units to overheat seasonally. These installations also creak and feel unstable. 5. Lease renewals obligate payment for water and garbage. Unit-specific water meters don't exist. Tenants shouldn't cover water used for driveway cleaning, pool/spa maintenance, or irrigation systems. Speaking of sprinklers, they cycled every quarter-hour from midnight through 8:00 a.m. for extended periods. 6. What about pest infestations—rodents, termites, roaches, and wasps? 7. Office interactions frequently involve hostile and dismissive behavior. Visiting mgmt creates anxiety due to expected confrontation and disrespect. 8. mgmt failed to address repeated mailbox break-ins. 9. Los Angeles implemented the Systemic Code Enforcement Program, charging Jones and Jones $43.32 monthly per unit, passed directly to tenants as additional rent. Subsequently, annual increases of 4% are applied ON TOP of this fee. Is this permissible? 10. mgmt permits non-residents to scavenge the dumpsters. Simultaneously, tenants must PAY for garbage service?! waste area has odor problems and roach populations. 11. Entrance and garage gates frequently malfunction with extended repair delays. 12. Recurring yearly "one-time security deposit" surcharges. It's unfortunate assigning one star per category 's need to. Jones and Jones warrants no stars whatsoever!

Stunning, well-maintained and secure unit. Kate working in the leasing office 's amazing. As a recent move-in, I don't have much more to add at this point. I haven't had the chance to try out the fitness center and laundry facilities yet, so I'll reserve judgment on those. swimming pool and hot tub are lovely amenities, though I've noticed the pool gets limited sunlight due to an adjacent building casting a shadow overhead.

I'm relieved to finally be out of this apartment! I just got my security deposit back and it's absolutely ridiculous - out of the $500 I handed over, they only returned $19.00! Seriously? They charged me $300 for bedroom carpet replacement, $157 for painting, and $65 for cleaning. This is insane because my place was actually cleaner than when I first moved in! Your deposit is basically gone no matter what, even if you hire a legit cleaning crew. Plus, don't count on repairs happening quickly. I had to call every single day for a week just to get my storage lock fixed! As if that wasn't enough, the apartment had a major termite problem. A crack appeared with termites pouring through it. The manager barely cared, especially since the office was closing soon. I waited all day and no one showed up. After calling again, someone finally came. Maintenance just sealed the hole the termites were entering through and painted over it. They didn't even attempt to actually eliminate them! Initially I thought this place was decent, but I quickly learned how truly awful it actually is. I absolutely wouldn't suggest it it to anyone. And to top it off, there's construction going on from morning through evening with workers constantly blocking cars in their parking spaces.

The unit is immaculate and modern. The neighborhood feels secure and welcoming for families. The grounds are attractive and meticulously maintained. The living spaces are generous with plenty of storage closets. There's easy covered parking right nearby.

I've been at Casa De Marina for about a week now and I'm extremely satisfied with how things have gone so far. Bobby and the entire leasing team went above and beyond to help me get settled. The property itself is really well-kept, and I've already met some wonderful people living here. The neighborhood surrounding the complex has great charm and feels residential, featuring Ronnie's Diner, great sushi, fantastic pizza, a neighborhood bar with that classic Cheers vibe, and a locally-owned bodega all conveniently located right down the street. I'm honestly already trying to get my friends to consider renting in the units near mine.

Casa de Marina is an great residential community offering well-kept grounds, courteous mgmt, perfect facilities, and generously sized units. What really impressed me most was the personal touch—the office team greeted everyone during our walkthrough by their name. I'd definitely suggest it to others!

I spent 2 years as a resident at Casa de Marina and found it to be an great place to live. The units are exceptionally spacious, equipped with modern appliances and finishes, impeccably maintained, and situated in a secure neighborhood. The property receives daily upkeep and the mgmt team demonstrated consistent friendliness, helpfulness, and genuine willingness to assist with any issues, typically resolving requests the same day.

I would strongly suggest considering this community for anyone looking to relocate. It fosters a welcoming atmosphere where residents genuinely enjoy each other's company and socialize regularly. Visitors consistently complimented my apartment during their stays. I'm puzzled by certain negative feedback circulating; my guess is that those reviews come from individuals who faced eviction, so I'd recommend disregarding them.

On the whole, it's a decent residence to call home—my neighbors are generally friendly and respectful. That said, things have slipped a bit since the previous manager Bobby departed, at least in my view. The complex could definitely benefit from improved security measures; we've had some problems with transients getting through the gates and wandering around the parking areas and garbage areas.
