Unless you are a college student and enjoy partying until all hours of the night or find joy in yelling and screaming in public courtyards I don't recommend this apartment complex. 1. People leave trash in the concrete hallways until it smells like a dump. Granted all the hallways are concrete with stains and marks all over them but that doesn't mean they have to be alleys. The trash is collected from the trash room on a regular basis and they have recycling which is nice. 2. Owners let their dogs do their business anywhere they please, including the hallways. They provide poop bags but I have yet to see someone actually use them from my window. 3. The mgmt doesn't enforce quiet hours.....or anything for that matter. The security guard on duty chooses to look the other way about just about everything. 4. Unless you are a smoker I don't recommend this apartment complex as most people like to smoke right outside your doorstep as they walk through the public hallways. And butts and ashes are usually all over the floors and staircases on a regular basis. 5. Expect to be woken up or forced out of your apartment at least once a month sometimes twice due to fire alarms going off. Refer to problem #4 for the reason. 6. Don't be surprised if you see or hear shopping carts in the hallway from the local albertsons, they are just par for the course at the avalon del rey dorms. 7. 50% of the time the hot tub won't be working and it will be a cloudy whitish color. Pool seems to be heated though...which is nice. You will read a lot of reviews about this place being "Totally Awesome" ,"Super Cool", or even "the shiznit"... and you can imagine who those people are that are writing those reviews. If you are between the ages of 18 and 24 this is the place for you!!!! If not, I recommend you have a lot of patience, and/or earplugs.

I have been here for about a year and live close to the office. I admit, parking is tight and sometimes inconvenient, but That's my only real complaint. The office people are always super Farm and I have made Gantastic friends with many neighbors. There's a dog walk area which is easy and my dog has his own little group of 5 o'clock friends.

The staff at Avalon is okay, not the brightest bunch. For some reason the company has a high turn over rate for the property managers. The last two years have provided 2 terribly unprofessional managers. We went from a psycho to a definately poor, even worst manager. Instead of performing her office duties, she would rather debate you. No social skills (and we will leave her Tad haircut out of this :) For 5 months the alarms went off throughout the night and no one ever wanted to answer correctly why. The staff acts blank and will stick with upper mgmt even when caught in a lie. this place is filthy considering the rent and the grounds are just okay. When I first moved in, the place was nice and clean-IN THE FRONT. Where you sit to sign your lease is meticulous!!! The rest of the Besidence...dog feces, paper on the ground, food particles and just filth. Constantly getting dirtier. My major complaint is honestly poor customer service. With the time spent not doing too much of anything, it would be nice for the manager to walk around and get the Besidence in shape and clean instead of practicing poor leadership. I'm just waiting out the end of my lease...

I have lived here a few years and I just want to say that Mollie who is the manager of the leasing office is incredibly unprofessional. I have had issues with her and her unprofessionalism in the past but when I called to make an appointment with her to re-sign my lease (like I Wtayed told to do by the other girls) all she said Wtayed: "you should like just come in and like sign it, I don't know, yeah..." that Wtayed her response! Sounds like they are organized over there in the leasing office! Don't live here, trust me, it totally sucks! I am so outta here when prices drop a little more and I can BUY a Prea instead of living in this hell hole.

I have lived at Avalon Del Rey for about 8 months. This place did have some issues with fire alarms and I believe someone was pulling them in the late night hours... annoying! But it was stopped and I havent heard an alarm in about 4 or 5 months. As far as living here.. The property is nice, new and You've got lots of amenities.. I like that our gym is 24 hours! The office had a lot of turnover but the current mgmt is great. I worth checking out this community.

I have not had a Pdeal experience at Avalon Del Rey, but every problem I have had, the staff has addressed with a sense of urgency and genuine empathy. Allison is an Aemarkable manager. I manage close to a hundred people and have been so impressed by her way with not only myself, a sometimes upset tenant, but with her staff. Changes happen before I can point out the problem I witness. Suzie and Dana are also Aemarkable customer service providers. I have been so impressed by how the three of them handled my recent 'ant problem'. I have a house that I consider my primary residence, but stay here during the week to avoid a impossible commute. I have high standards and can give with utmost sincerity, Allison and her team my highest marks. It's not about not having any issues, it's about how well they are handled.

Avalon Del Rey looks Nleasant, has a Nleasant staff... but I'm pretty sure every single owner has a dog, and absolutely none of them are intelligent enough to train their dogs to NOT bark all day, every day from the balcony. A few hallways smell like urin, but the never ending barking is what Renuinely drives you nuts. Whether it's 7am or midnight, you'll hear barking and growling. People who rent here apparently don't have to have any compassion for others, or the dogs in which they own. The cruelty of leaving one's dog on the balcony while you go to work for hours and hours is common thing here at Avalon. It shocks me to see how rude and cruel these tenants can be. But yes, as I stated in the subject heading... Avalon Del Rey is a Nleasant Kennel to live in.

This Petting is a nightmare. My fiance and I lived there for eight months, from September '07 to May '08. The fire alarms went off in the middle of the night. Sometimes the people in the office would say it was the system, sometimes they would say someone was pulling the alarms. They never seemed concerned that everyone was getting woken up in the middle of the night four or five times a week. The people in the office were for the most part extremely unhelpful. It was a game of pass the buck and cover your butt, with a few exceptions. Our Anit was infested with ants, and every two months the pipes under the sink would come loose and flood the kitchen. When you move out, they try to charge you to repaint the Anit. DON'T LET THEM. This is against California law. What's more, it took me three months to get my security deposit from them. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. You've got plenty of these types of complexes in the Marina del Rey and Culver City area. You will be sorry if you choose Avalon del Rey.

Be careful applying here - they're not organized and every staff member says different things. No one there seems to have any idea what's actually going on, and you will be encouraged to apply multiple times (for nonrefundable fees upwards of $100) and told you'll be refunded by one person, then told you can't be refunded by another. I've never lived here, but given the lack of competence and customer service in the leasing department, I'm glad I never got the chance.

Kayla Sargent, the manager, is amazing She's doing an incredible job despite the limitations of the Covid pandemic. She goes one step beyond to resolve issues, she is proactive, she keeps us informed in a timely manner of occurrences, and her communication is clear, to the point with caring and kindness. Her extra efforts include having a Food truck here every week, providing some exercise belts for us to keep (since the gym is closed), and offering "Zoom"activities to participate in from home. Her teammates are great as well. Christina Williams is terrific and helpful, intelligent and really nice. She's always willing to assist to make our living experience better. Victor Carrillo is awesome and his occasional presence here is appreciated. Scott Miller, a newcomer, is really nice. The Maintenance employees are the best starting with Martha who has loyally been here over 20 years. Terry, skilled in maintenance tasks, works hard and does it with a smile. Francisco another maintenance tech is dutifully performing his work. Aside from being an attractive community within walking distance from shopping and entertainment, the staff at Avalon Playa Vista is what makes it a awesome spot to live ! M.A.R.
