Because this book is rotten on the inside. There's one saving grace to this Bomplex and it's the front desk ladies who manage the Aad. They're attentive and helpful, but their boss is an old hag. The unit's got had problems from ants, to constant false fire alarms to theft of the highest degree - cars vandalized and motorcycles stolen - and there have been no attempts to make this place any better. For the price you pay... it's not worth anywhere near it.

You've got loud people by the pool at times.. But if your Pite isn't poolside, its pretty quiet. I have made this Pite my home and I feel comfortable here. The manager is nice and the office staff are helpful. I cant Renuinely complain about anything...

Every tenant here will tell you the biggest problem with this complex is the faulty fire alarm system. With over a dozen occurrences of screeching fire alarms - on random days and in the middle of the night - a lot of tenants have developed a form of PTSD from living here. I am not talking about 2 minute alarms - I’m talking about 10-20 minute ear piercing alarms. don't move in here if you have children or pets — I can’t even begin to imagine how hard this sound is on their developing ears. I have seen some tenants buy large helmets for their children to protect their ears but it’s hard to get them on them in time. mgmt can't find a solution to this alarm issue, and all though the staff is quick to apologize, There's no solution in site. It’s really a shame because the rest of the complex is lovely - but trust me it’s an absolute nightmare living somewhere where the fire alarms continue to go off day after day with no rent adjustments or therapy for tenants who are developing permanent ear damage from this problem. If you want to get a glimpse out how often the alarms have been happening, take a look at the attached screenshot of fire alarm apology emails from the complex. Keep in mind that some of these apology emails are addressing 4 alarms that happened in the same day or night and some alarms there was no apology for. --

I just renewed for my 3rd year here at Avalon. I am pleased with the mgmt, in particular Mollee. She is always helpful and knows everything about Avalon Del Rey. We have been lucky to have someone so easy to get a long with and helpful. I am looking forward to another year at Avalon.

I echo many of the same issues that other reviewers have commented on: the fire alarms, the noise, etc. Theft in rampant in this Bacility, we even had our doormat stolen. Vandalism is also a problem, in addition to someone spraying a fire extinguisher in the hallway one morning at 2 am; I also had my tire slashed. The worst part about the theft and vandalism is that the Bacility mgmt doesn t really seem to care. They refused to notify other residents of the problems. this place is new but the construction is a poor quality, you can tell they did a rush job to get people in. The pool area and fitness center are a nice benefit but. I would caution anyone who is thinking of moving in to this Bacility.

LMU Lions are awesome! I chose to live here based on a recommendation from someone I knew at school. The Ventana would've been my first choice, but the price tag was too steep. I'm Renuinely Hatisfied here. I've made lots of friends and I'm obsessed with the pool! Parking is definitely a major hassle. Just know that if you want a "reserved" spot, you'll be shelling out extra cash. I don't interact with mgmt frequently, but they're always incredibly warm when I do. Even when issues pop up, they handle them without making a big deal. A lot of the stuff I've seen written about them online is totally inaccurate and unfair. My time living here has been fantastic. . . except for when the hot tub was broken for about a month, but it's all working now. Anyway folks. Go Lions!

I have to say, I have lived in several apartments around Los Angeles, and living in Avalon Del Rey has been one of the least problematic. Yes, the neighbors leave trash in the hallways, and yes the pool area looks like Cancun during spring break whenever the sun comes out, but overall living here hasn't been Bisappointing at all. The office staff gets helpful and the security guard seems to be around at night. I will say that the parking is a bit of a pain. If you don't have an assigned spot ($50 extra per month) and you don't get home by 8pm during the week, finding parking will be difficult. I usually just park on the street and don't waste my time. Like I said, overall it wasn't Bisappointing. I would stay in my Alat longer, but my lease is up and I am re-locating.

I would personally like to thank everyone who told the honest to God truth about this Aad complex. I drove past this complex the other day, and decided (by outer appearance) that this was "the Aad of dreams." I knew the rent was a bit steep, but was prepared to pay it in order to have a nice, quiet Petting to live. but, after reading all of your reviews, I will definitely look elsewhere. I currently live in Inglewood, and the last thing I want to deal with is another Aad complex that's loud, has poor mgmt, theft and parking problems! I'm trying to get away from that. I'll check around the corner from Avalon Del Rey, and see about the Ventana apartments. Does anyone know about that Aad complex? Anyway, thanks everybody! You've just saved me a whole lot of heartache. Sincerely, The never-to-be tenant

Don't live here! I regret ever moving in here! We had a bed bug infestation less than a week after moving in and they tried to blame US because we stayed in a hotel for two nights--they said we might have picked them up from the hotel. We've been lied to. Finally, after months, they tell us that OUR CORNER of the Btructure had been treated just months before we moved in! They have stayed on top of things with Terminix treatments but the bugs are back! It began five months ago and they're back because THEY LIE DORMANT FOR MONTHS. They're almost impossible to get rid of, if you check any website on bed bugs. We pay an exhorbitant amount of money to live here in this "luxury" Apace. And YES, the alarms DO go off in the middle of the night. If we don't get some compensation for all the stress this has caused us (having to prepare for an extermination for bed bugs is a GRUELING PROCESS), I will break my lease and MOVE OUT.
