I don't even know where to start. I have never had a worst experience living somewhere in my entire life. DO NOT MOVE HERE. The one good thing I will say about this apartment is the location and the door men / engineers. That DOES NOT include the manager and main door woman, Jennifer Taylor. She is a horrible person. First of all, she is extremely rude, and unhelpful in legitimately all instances and never smiles. This is a condo building so all of the rules are made by Jennifer and her precious "board." The board consists of the people that live in the building and own condos, they are psychopaths too. They implement these crazy rules with Jennifer and penny pinch any where they can. They created a rule where you have to pay $500 just to MOVE OUT of the building, and will not help you, but try and fine you any instance they can. These rules do not apply to the "board" themselves though. During COVID they put strict lock down on the roof (literally the only good part of this building) and do not allow visitors. I had a guest with me sitting at a table on the roof and one of the board members (we'll call her Karen) out of nowhere came up screaming at us questioning who lives here and telling us she was management (she was not and I also think she was drunk.) She got in our faces screaming at us (which there is a rule for social distancing as well that she was NOT adhering too which was strange if she cared so much about the COVID rules in place.) This resulted on her calling her buddy Jennifer, Jennifer sending me a long email to my landlord and l, "banning" me and my roommate (who was not even with me at the time) from the roof, and fining me $300. But Karen herself is on the "board" so she didn't have any repercussions for screaming in our faces without a mask or telling people she was management when she was not. This building is full of psychos, all of them. DO NOT LIVE HERE

I lived at this residence for two years and I loved the location and the rooftop. Unfortunately that is about where the list stops. The insulation in my unit was terrible and was never fixed after multiple complaints. Not only did air flow in at all times, if there was anyone outside it sounded like they were literally in my apartment. Never fixed. Also the move out fee - when I signed my lease the fee was $200. When I was ready to move out they had changed it to $400. This was absurd and they completely hounded me, wouldn't let me move out until I paid it in cash. Would not recommend living here

The staff here is absolutely atrocious. Especially the property manager. Her name is Jennifer. She is utterly rude, disrespectful and frankly racist. If you have issues with your apartment, do not expect any help from her. I would live here past my lease term, but as long as Jennifer is the property manager, its going to be a no from me.

I was expecting a package and the staff was very rude and unprofessional to the delivery guy. I would think everyone would have a pleasant experience but I do not appreciate the rudeness that was displayed. I apologize to the Amazon staff on their behalf. She told the guy to "---- Off". Totally unacceptable!!!

The staff is insane- Jennifer Allen is an absolute psychopath. If you like living in a building that is more strict than Germany 1933 I would recommend. If you value your guests experience, general safety and well being STAY AWAY. The door staff takes bribes, allows strangers upstairs but refuses to let approved friends up, and is generally very bizarre. Ironically they decorate the place as an insane asylum for Halloween every year- it is extremely fitting since they are mentally insane.

First off, if you have a dog, DO NOT live here. They say it's a pet friendly building, but there is a lady that lives here that finds dogs disgusting, and she might attack you. Why does this lady who hates dogs live in a dog friendly building? I don't know; probably by the same logic that she thinks it's okay to attack people in the elevator. She attacked my girlfriend while she was holding her corgi puppy in the elevator; all because she thought the dog was licking the elevator buttons?? We filed a formal complaint with the condominium association, and a police report. It would not surprise me if she's attacked others before, as I've been there when she's screamed obscenities at my girlfriend and chased her to her unit. Don't worry, by the time you read this and/or move in, she'll probably still be there. The building attorney was contacted and they said they won't be doing anything about this situation. If you have a dog, or want to live in a place that actually cares about the safety of their residents, I'd check elsewhere. The apartments themselves are decently nice. There's a lot of space, hardwood floors, and the building has an incredible rooftop. The laundry situation is bad. The machines are outdated, and the dryers will sometimes take multiple runs to dry your clothes (and may leave them smelling a little funky). The staff are generally helpful. One annoying thing is that you'll end up having to come downstairs to let your friends up if you don't have a Chicago area code phone number. There's a box to call up, but it only works if you have a specific area code. The desk staff do not call up like at other apartments, probably because that call box exists. This is probably the most annoying thing about the security situation, aside from the fact that they don't have cameras in the elevators to catch people who attack you for holding a dog that literally isn't doing anything. A special shout-out to Cory who works at the front desk. He's super friendly and helpful. If there were a reason to move back, he'd be it.

The building is in a great location and is kept up very well. However, I did not stay in the building and wouldn't recommend it because the property manager and other staff are VERY rude. They make everything much more difficult than necessary and try to get money out of you any way possible. If the building was under other ownership it would be one of the best places in Gold Coast.

The reason for such negative reviews is the manager. She is a control freak and makes ------'s SS groups look like first graders. I would use my name; however I would suffer consequences!

I'm actually quite surprised by the negative ratings I am seeing for this building. My husband and I are selling, but only because we need more space. (we're currently in a 1 bedroom; no kids yet) Management is management. They run a tight ship and do everything they can to make you feel at home and taken care of. They communicate all necessary information in a timely manner to the residents of the building. Maintenance is honestly amazing. While searching for a 2 bedroom condo in the area with my husband, we were appauled by the conditions of buildings in the surrounding area. It made us truly appreciate our maintenance guys for all that they do. We actually moved out of the area because nothing compared to the 1339 Dearborn building. My husband and I started out with one car in the building. Once I got a car, there was abundant parking for me to choose from for a monthly fee. Parking was never an issue. The location is perfection. So many options in the area for entertainment, dining, bars..etc. Old Town, Lincoln Park are in spitting distance, not to mention the lake, trails, grocery stores etc.. It's the perfect area to live in. I am going to miss it!

This place is not good. Stay away. I lived and owned there from 2003 to 2005. Only reason I didn't leave after one year is because I couldn't sell in tough market. My place was nice with many upgrades and easily rentable but every tenant wanted out after a year because they hated the management and the laundry situation. Plus zero privacy with thin walls. Bottom line; if your looking in that area there are better options. I'd put this one in the only if I can't find anything else category
